Serving soldiers will cycle from Windsor to Twickenham via all 13 of the Rugby World Cup venues.

13 Venues. 1300 Miles. 13 Days.

CHASE THE CUP – 6 – 18 SEP 15

In September 2015, 20 Household Cavalry Regiment soldiers will be cycle from Windsor to Twickenham via the 13 Rugby World Cup venues. The event will take 13 days and totals 1300 miles. The aim of the event is to combine the growing sports of rugby and cycling within the Army in what will be a spectacular year of sport for the United Kingdom. The event will also aims to raise money for the Household Cavalry Foundation and other charities.

Day 13 DONE. We have finished this epic challenge, which is great for 2 reasons - first we have completed our aim in tack and secondly we will not be bothering you for much longer with our endeavours!!! 45 miles today put our final total at 1303 in 13 days. A truly epic experience and one that will live long in the memory!!

Day 12 done. 60 more miles to the total, leaving 42 for tomorrow. Today has been brilliant with visits from Prince Harry, Bill Beaumont and Danny Carter. We also saw are last 2 RWC venues. The weather was on our side today but the drivers definitely were not!!!!

Day 11 done. Today was a day of 2 halves. The morning quick, flat, serene whilst the afternoon was wet, hilly, cold and full of horrible London drivers! We did however smash 98 miles and visit 2 more RWC venues. With 2 days remaining we have cycled1198 miles and visited 11 Venues. 2 days left please continue to share this event and donate wherever possible!

Day 10 done. Today was a hard 123 miles. The weather was dreadful but we have passed 1000 miles and saw another RWC venue. Full steam ahead to London now. 1100 miles cycled 200 to go!

Day 9 done. 110 miles today across the Yorkshire Moors and through York. Visited our 8th RWC venue. 5 to go. Got hit by 4 punctures in 1 hour. The team is looking forward to getting back to London now.

Day 8 done. 112 miles cycled. We now sit at 867 overall. Today has been incredibly hard with a lot of hills before lunch. We have started coming south and can't wait to see everyone on Friday night.

Day 7 completed. The team are set up in Carlisle Castle for the evening. 130 mile slog in the rain today has seen us smash halfway and now sit on a total of 755 miles. 545 miles to go.
