Full house for club tennis yesterday, in glorious sunshine. A reminder that all club members are welcome to join in - just turn up from 9am! The key exchange and AGM takes place on Tuesday 19th March at 7.30pm in the Sports Pavilion, Benner Lane, West End.

Perfect Spring sunshine for social doubles this morning! Open to members and non-members, just turn up and play! The club’s tennis coach Clive organises drills and provides hints and tips! Just £10 for non-members for an hour and a half from 10am.

Team effort for the West End Tennis Club tree, part of the Christmas Tree Festival at Holy Trinity Church, West End. The festival will be open from 11.30am to 6.30om on Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th December.

Delighted that our West End Tennis Club Secretary Chris Anthony has been awarded Citizen of the Year, reflecting all he does for the community as well as the tennis club. Congratulations Chris!

Eighteen years ago Peter Cherryman took his place on the West End Tennis Club Committee. The following meeting he was elected Chairman, a role he has carried out with wisdom and aplomb until now. Sadly Peter is moving away from the area to begin a new life in Dorset. The committee joins all the members of the club in thanking Peter for his sterling service. He will be much missed both for his wisdom and guidance (and his tennis playing!). We wish him the best of luck with his move.

His resignation also means that there are spaces to be filled on the committee. Any members of the club wishing to get more involved in this much-loved local amenity should contact [email protected].

Come and see our tree in Holy Trinity Church this weekend. The church looks amazing. Well worth a visit!
