Shimano xtd spod decided it wanted a bath in the lake 🛁

The customer waking up to his spod rod falling over spending that night in the lake was the result of some lovely rust and corrosion to most of the internal parts☹️

Luckily enough all parts cleaned up well apart from some bearings and its now ready to live another day 😉

🎣This old Abu 506 came to me in a box of bits after the customer getting a friend to strip down the reel for an issue and not able to rebuild, now rebuilt with the issue fixed and posted back of to the happy customer 👌🏻

Pair of original shimano longcast in for a service and spare spool service👌🏻

These are in grate condition for there age and believe me I have had plenty of them on the bench over the years, these pair have come out like new after working my usual magic🪄

As you can see from the image one of the spare spools was in a right state needing new drag washers as they were well past saving, worth remembering all your spool drags need looking after just as much as your reels need a service! your playing drag/clutch is one of the most important things on a reel🎣

Bring your spare spools in for a service with your reels and there’s small charge per spool but well worth looking after 👍🏻

Shimano ultegra 3500 xsd serviced with a rotor bearing replacement,

This reel is used as a spod reel as you can see from the images it’s fell into the water a couple of times in its life😉

It was definitely due for a service as the water had damaged the bearing and caused the lubricants to turn to nothing, but that’s what a work horse is for I suppose! 🐴

Remember a spod reel is one of your main tools for angling and gets the most strain and beating out of all your reels, its worth a service every now and again to make sure that your feed bait can be applied without breaking down on you during session 🎣👍🏻

🎣 Lovley pair of daiwa castizm in for some repairs and a service, if I ever had a small set up these would be my reel of choice! They are so well built and you get a lot for your money 👌🏻

Being covered with dirt and mag seal leaking everywhere theses reels have come out looking a turning like new✨

Customer bought these reels to me with one of them jumping off the worm drive when oscillating up and down, I was expecting the issue to be a worn slider or worn pinion gear but after being stripped down I found that both pinion bearings had collapsed causing that much movement for the paw to be jumping off the worm drive, also explains the mag seal everywhere due to the movement of the pinion breaking the seal 😉

Delkim txi-d in for a repair that decided to go for a bath in the lake🛁🫣 the alarm would go crazy when turned on as if you had a screamer!

After opening it up and seeing corrosion everywhere all over the board, I decided to clean it up and go from there, but still was going crazy when turned on!

so after testing components I found some of them to have been eaten alive by the corrosion, components changed and re-sealed the alarm works a charm ready for that next screaming take 🎣👌🏻

🎣Shimano stradic 3000s GTM for a service and mainshaft replacement

These are one of the best feeder reels in the match game so I’m told by the match anglers👌🏻

🎣Shimano tech mags xtd serviced with some replacement parts, customer had been fishing some Sandy pits lately causing grit and sand to start gettting into places it shouldn’t be❗️

after a line roller bearing and spool clicker replacement the reels were turning smooth again and sounding as they should👌🏻

The build quality on these new mags are very impressive and can see why so many anglers swear by them for there choice of reel,plus the looks😍

💥🚤 AT microcat MK1 for a repair, after the customer decided to try and run the boat on the incorrect batteries, the boat started to smoke and then would power up intermittently

After splitting the boat apart and testing there were a couple of components found to be burnt out on the main board🔥

The components were changed,boat re-sealed, new battery leads made, correct batteries installed and a clean/polish to finish off the boats ready for future sailing trips🚤🎣

🎣The original daiwa crosscast in for a service, these reels were well built for a budget reel along with the original daiwa windcast, very underestimated in there time! Customer also had a fresh line re-spool to go with the service, because we are located in Fatty’s bait’s and fishing tackle purchasing new line for your reel is made easy as there’s plenty of stock and different options, re-spooling at the same time of service just makes it all nice and fresh for your future sessions👌🏻🎣

🎣Abu 506 closed face in for a full recovery,was an enjoyment working on this old timer its been a while since I’ve had one in for a service and made a change from servicing your typical big pit reels, the spool chenille was refreshed as the old was brittle and damaged with new line re-spooled for the customer, the reel should be good for many years to come👌🏻🎣
