***IMPORTANT CHANGES***

Parents/carers

Hi all,

Hope you are all well?

Just to let you all know, due to the lower numbers of gymnasts that have returned back to classes since the lockdown I will be merging the last three classes.

Therefore the gymnasts that currently attend the 12:30-13:30 class and the 13:45-14:45 class will now be added to the 11:15-12:15 class from the 26th June and will have to attend their lesson at this time as there will no longer be any later classes on Saturdays!

I understand that this may not suit everybody’s needs and I do apologise for this, but as I’m sure you can all understand in the current circumstances, I have tried to cater for the needs of the majority whilst keeping in mind what I am able to provide for yourselves and your children.

If you are unable to commit to the new class time and have already paid this terms fees, you will be refunded for the classes that your child does not attend!

If you could please let me know as soon as possible whether or not you will be able to attend the new 11:15 class and I will add your child/children to the register, and if not I will organise a refund for you.

Hope that all makes sense, please let me know if you have any other questions!

Stay safe

Kind Regards,

Steph

Parents/Carers

Just to confirm that the club will re-open on Saturday 17th April at Woodbridge High School.

From Saturday 1st May classes will then transfer over to Sylvestrian Centre on a temporary basis for the whole of May. We will then return back to Woodbridge on the 5th June.

Covid-19
Gymnasts will still need to sanitise upon entry and exit of the club, parents will still not be allowed into the gymnasium to watch. This also applies to when we move to the Sylvestrian Centre. British Gymnastics have now given the go ahead for coaches to resume supporting gymnasts from the 1st May, as the club has to be open two weeks before recommencing physical contact. Coaches will be wearing masks when supporting to minimise the spread of Covid-19. (If you do not want your child to be supported during the lessons please e-mail me)

Collection & Drop Off (Sylvestrian Centre)
To minimise the amount of people entering and exiting the leisure centre, please wait outside the main entrance where a coach will come and collect the children. At the end of the of the session gymnasts will be bought downstairs to be dismissed by one of the coaches.

Fees
Fees this term will be given out on slips of paper, please make sure you receive one of these slips from your child at the end of the session.

Timings
Timings at Woodbridge for the 17th and 24th April will remain the same before lockdown. Classes are 10am,11.15,12.30 and 1.45.

Timings at Sylvestrian centre for the month of May will be 1.30-2.30 and 2.40-3.40. Classes will be held in the gymnasium which is next to the cricket suite. I know this is a lot later in the day and I appreciate you may have other activities in the afternoon. If you cannot make the session due to the timings please let me know in advance.

Parents,

I hope you are all doing well? We are very much looking forward to seeing you and being able to deliver and teach gymnastics in the safest possible way whilst also following Covid-19 guidelines. Although I am still awaiting an official confirmation from the government about re-opening from the 12th April, I am making plans re-open on the 17th April (fingers crossed).

I am currently in the process of working out the logistics for our re-opening.

Lessons on the 17th and 24th April will take place at Woodbridge High School, then from the 1st May classes will be moving to the Sylvestrian Centre at Forest School until the 29th May. Due to other hirers using the centre our class times would have to change for the period we are at the Sylvestrian Centre.

Unfortunately with the move to the Sylvestrian centre our lessons would only be able to take place after 12pm. Before I confirm the booking I would like to know how many of you would be able to;

Make the change over to the Sylvestrian Centre
Change of time to classes
Returning to the club

***Please note that if numbers are low in classes, classes may be combined***

Can you please confirm and reply to this email answering the questions above along with your child's name and class time, a confirmation email will be sent out nearer the time with all the information regarding time changes etc.

Parents/Carers

Apologises for the delay in providing this information to you all, but I was waiting further clarification from the school regarding where classes currently stand after our two week break. Having now had that clarification I can confirm that the club will remain closed for the period of one month due to the current national lockdown. Please see clarification that I have received from the school. I will be back in touch nearer the time of when we can re-open.

To All Hirers: You will have noted the latest instruction from the Government over the weekend in respect of the ongoing Covid-19 situation. I am really sorry but as of this coming Thursday, the school is not in a position to run our lettings for at least a period of one month.

I just want to thank everybody for still attending classes and supporting the club during this pandemic.

Fees- Please note that if you have already paid your fees, fees will be carried over to when we return as they were when we had the first lockdown. Those who have not paid fees, fees are still due otherwise your space will be lost.

Welfare Officer

Flipstars Gymnastics Club's welfare officer is Shelley Gillan. She has been popping in a few times since the club has re-opened if you have any concerns regarding safeguarding, poor practice or potential/alleged abuse. Shelley can be contacted via the following-

We are pleased to confirm that children are not impacted by the changes announced by the government yesterday (22nd September). The restriction only applies to those aged 18 and over.

This ruling may apply to adults participating in ‘Team Sport’ specific elements of gymnastics. We are seeking clarification from Sport England and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on this and how the rule of 6 would apply.

I will update you all once it’s been confirmed

We are in contact with Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to understand the full impact of the COVID-19 restrictions announced in parliament today, in particular the rule of 6 applying to indoor adult team sport (England only). As soon as we have further information we will provide an update.

Parents/Carers,

As you are all probably aware the government has given the green light for gyms to re-open from the 25th July. As the club is based within a school, it is at the schools discretion when they re-start with their activities. I have been in contact with the lettings manager at Woodbridge and he remains hopeful at reintroducing some of the hirers from September.

Fingers crossed we will be able to re-open in september with all the current guidelines applied and in place for a safe return.

***MEMBERSHIP***

British Gymnastics have reached out to some clubs on a individual basis and through their Club Stakeholder Advisory Group, to understand the challenges some may be facing and BG want to support participants getting back into clubs and for the first month membership renewals in October, and for new members who register at this time, BG will be subsidising the annual membership fee for bronze and silver members. This means:

Bronze members- £15 for 2020/21 (membership reduced from £19 in 2019/20

Alongside this BG are encouraging participants who are struggling financially die to the impact of Covid-19 to apply for funding through the British Gymnastics Foundation Hardship Grants Programme. Applications are now open and will remain open throughout July and August.

BG will be providing further details on membership in the coming weeks including how to complete your renewal.

I will be in contact again when a date has been agreed to return and re-open.

Stay Safe
