The Ladies invitation to the Men’s seniors was a glorious but chilly day. A fantastic combined club day ending with scrummy food.

Mens Captain versus Men’s Vice Captain 2025 Avro competition

Paul Barnes (Vice Captain) led an England team of 11 pairs playing a Wales , Scotland and Northern Ireland team of 11 pairs led by Steve Jackson (Captain 2025). Better ball match play format, with a Premier League scoring system – 3pts for a Win and 1pt for a half match.



Shotgun start with a welcome halfway house serving hot tea or coffee on a bright but very chilly Sunday morning. National themed snacks were served by Marie Jackson and Nik Barnes – Pork Pies with Eccles Cakes and Scotch Eggs with Tunnocks Caramel Logs to top up the energy levels!

So proud of our fabulous AVRO ladies, Gabby Hampshire and Nikki Hale who played at PING Golf competition at Thonock Park this Monday.

In this countrywide competition 5500 pairs from 713 golf clubs entered and the top 52 played, they scored well and came 24th with a score of 38 the winners of the trophy got 49! … and they were both playing another 18 the following day, well done ladies 🙌🏌️‍♀️🎉

AVRO Club Captain Gareth Roberts and AVRO Men’s Captain Steve Jackson recently won the Manchester and District Golf Captains Presidents trophy at Stockport Golf club, with a better ball score of 48 points. They were accompanied by fellow Avro Past Captains Phil Normanton and Vic Tarr for what was a most enjoyable day.
