Our final game of the season, and despite a comfortable 6โ€“0 win, the build-up to the game was far from comfortable. With just 12 players available, no goalkeeper, injuries across the squad, and the pressure of needing at least a point to secure our goal of a Top 5 finish, the odds felt against us before kick-off. Add in the heat and end-of-season fatigue, the message was simple: ๐˜ด๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜บ ๐˜ด๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ.
What followed was a performance that summed this group up perfectly. Players stepped up everywhere. Niamh, our centre back, answered the call to play in goal for 90 minutes and finished the season with a clean sheet. Davo, after missing the last four games through injury, returned for her final minutes of the season and instantly brought back organisation, leadership, and energy that weโ€™ve badly missed.
Sophie returned from a three-week holiday and immediately slotted back into the midfield partnership with Raff for what was their final game together โ€” a duo that has been massive for us this season. G returned too, adding creativity, width, and direct attacking play, even managing to find the net after rattling the framework and other chances. Brunning left her family holiday to play and then drove back after another consistent performance - big shout out. Across the pitch, the team controlled the game properly. We looked after the ball, stayed aggressive in attack, and played with confidence rather than panic despite everything surrounding us. Sineadโ€™s pressure and energy down the right caused constant problems, while unfortunately Hollie saw her season end early after taking an injury following a strong mistimed challenge. Up front, Loz signed off in style with the perfect strikerโ€™s hat-trick โ€” right foot, left foot, and a header from a pinpoint Raff delivery.
The result itself was important, but more importantly it was how we played. The team could easily have let the circumstances take over mentally, but instead every player contributed and played with composure. On another day, the scoreline could easily have reached double figures.
The win secures a Top 5 finish, a target we set at the very beginning of the season.

๐‘ท๐‘ถ๐‘ป๐‘ด Joint award for Chloe, arguably playing her best game of the season, and Raff, who once again showed exactly why sheโ€™ll be missed. We wish her nothing but success on her next football journey. We now officially sign off the season with heads held high. Next weekโ€™s fixture vs Dudley Town will be forfeited as we are content with our final league position, but we already look forward to meeting them again during pre-season.

The game to secure our goal of top 5 finish.

Was never about the score, it was about the performance and how we looked after the ball and controlled the game when missing a Goalkeeper and restricted outfield options. Solid performance with multiple chances still not taken.

Great result to sign off the season.

Last minutes to secure our goal of top 5 finish.

Team that took to the field for one last time this season. Our lightest team to take to field. First call up for CB Niamh to take to Goalkeeper and return of injured Davo for one last game of season.

Following the recent announcement of the Club of fellow Manager Marc stepping down at the end of season I can now share that following last weekends fixture vs Kempsey my season has come to an end and I have stood down as a coach of the Worcester City Lionesses, The time is right for me as I now look forward to a well deserved Holiday and explore other opportunities next season.

This was my first ever season in coaching first team football, and in honesty, I was a bit scared of the jump, with new people, a new role, a very new environment, but to say that Iโ€™ve loved it, would be an understatement!

This season myself and Marc have worked tirelessly to improve and develop the players within our squad, and help them to enjoy football and win along the way. I think itโ€™s fair to say weโ€™ve completed that. With two games to go, we need 1 point to solidify a 5th place finish in the league, compared to 10th place last season, weโ€™ve reached a team record breaking County Cup semi final, making us the highest performing Tier 6 or 7 team within the county cup - a personal highlight for myself. Before the season, our goals were of a Top 5 finish, and a a cup run, and Iโ€™m delighted to say weโ€™ve nearly achieved both, as I have complete confidence in the squad picking up the points necessary this coming Sunday.

I would like to personally thank my colleague, and friend, Marc Kings, for providing a mentor and someone to learn off and learn with this season, and has helped my passion for coaching grow exponentially. I would also like to thank all the players Iโ€™ve worked with at the club, as you have made coaching a joy for me this season, through the hard games and the good, and seeing you develop and succeed on the pitch, gives me a feeling as a coach that canโ€™t be replicated.

I would absolutely love to be able to work with Marc and the ladies again in the future, but for now, itโ€™s time for me to enjoy a well earned break and put my feet up!

Sundayโ€™s fixture ended in a 5โ€“1 win, but for us it was a performance that felt far more difficult than it should have been. Going into the game, we knew there would naturally be expectation to perform strongly, especially with other teams around the league recording high scorelines in similar fixtures. While we secured the result, we know ourselves that we fell short of the standards and control we expect.

We created more than enough chances throughout the game but lacked the clinical edge needed to truly take control or chance was not on outside. A saved penalty, multiple efforts narrowly wide, hitting the framework three times, and even one attack that struck both posts summed up the day in front of goal โ€” one of those games where chances came but wouldnโ€™t quite fall how we wanted.

To Kempseyโ€™s credit, they stayed competitive throughout and took their opportunity well to make it 1โ€“1 following a well-worked goal after Meg had opened the scoring with a strong header from a quality delivery by Loz.
The game became physical at times, with some moments crossing the line and resulting in a yellow card for the away side, but the group continued to battle and eventually found more composure in key moments. Meg restored the lead with what many are already calling a goal-of-the-season contender, while Molly stepped up again with a huge penalty save to keep momentum with us.
A major positive from the day was the return of Rhea after six months out injured. Coming back into the side and contributing with two assists and a goal was brilliant to see and a moment the whole team appreciated. One of her corners was met by a strong Raff header to make it 3โ€“1, before another delivery found Jordan โ€œMcGinnโ€ Jeeves on the scoresheet for the fourth. Rhea then capped off her return by finishing well herself following another assist from Loz.

This fixture also marked the final game of the season for Manager Tyler before a well-earned break, and weโ€™d like to thank him for his contribution, support, and role in the success and growth of the group this season we look forward to seeing his journey continue next season.
