🏆 National Celebration of Young People & Fishing 2026! 🎣

This weekend, some of our young anglers travelled down to the Shropshire Union Canal in Staffordshire to represent Worksop Angling Academy in the Canal & River Trust Angling National Celebration of Young People and Fishing!

It was a huge event on a classic canal venue, and our lads put in an unbelievable performance against top young talent from across the country.

🏆 1st place. Carter won the young junior category with 5kg 850g and was 2nd overall on the day over both age groups.

🏆 Harry took 6th place in the young junior category with 3kg.

To take top spot and secure a top 6 finish on the national stage is a massive achievement. Well done to all that went down to support. 👏🏼

A huge thank you to today's sponsor, HSHE Ltd, for your continued support of the club and our young anglers. 👏

It was a tough day on the bank today—easily one of the hardest days of fishing we've seen all season. The fish just didn't want to play ball, with the back bowl proving especially tricky, but every single angler dug in and worked hard to put fish in the net.

🏆 1st place: Tom - 81lb 2oz
2nd place: Cian - 28lb 8oz
3rd place: Finley - 26lb 8oz
4th place: Stan - 25lb 4oz
5th place: Jake - 19lb 4oz

The lads absolutely smashed it out on the bank with two personal best weights broken, along with the highest club weight of the season so far!

🎣 Rod only match action at Lodge Farm Fisheries.

We kicked off the day with a great waggler fishing demo from Fuzz Farrow.

It proved to be a tough day on the bank with the fish just not wanting to bite, but the team didn't give up. There was plenty of mugging going on to get some hard-earned weights onto the scales.

Huge effort from every single angler under tough conditions—well done everyone! 👏
