Fun session using pads to develop some penetrative power in our techniques. In Tai Chi we focussed on the palm strike from "Part the Grass to find the Snake" & the body punch from "The General carries the Seal." In the Kung Fu we focussed on front & roundhouse kicks. Very cathartic!

Finally finished carving and sanding the twin broadswords to the right shape and weight. Took a while to get it just right, but we are now onto my favourite part- the painting! First undercoat just gone on.🙂

Getting those half handles and guards on proved tricky... but I got there in the end!

Busy working on my latest commission.
A pair of twin broadswords.

I am enjoying the challenge!

My latest commission, all finished & delivered to their happy owner, who is enjoying using them in class!
A wooden training Dao, Da Dao & Miao Dao, all in a beautiful red Chinese silk carry case.

On to my next challenge now, a set of double broadswords! 🙂

Getting ready for our kids Kung Fu class tonight & we have just been joined by Kung Fu royalty!
Only Po the Panda & Tigress in person!!
Actually they are just a couple of life sized cardboard standees I made for the class.
Hopefully the kids will get a kick out of them! (Well, maybe not literally, but you know what I mean!!)
If you know of any kids between 5 & 15 that would be interested in joining up, call Russell: 07885 963979.
