We're live!
Breeze rides in Brighton & Hove for April and May are now on the Let's Ride system and ready to take bookings.
There are 25 rides in total, ranging from 5 miles to 36 miles.
I have uploaded jpg files of the complete ride list here plus (for those of you new to Breeze) some info about booking and what to expect.
We anticipate that the rides will be extremely popular and fill up quickly. We are limiting the group size to 6 - even though British Cycling (and the Government) have authorised us to take up to 15 riders out (because we are qualified ride leaders), we won't be doing this because the public won't understand this, and everyone else will be limited to the 'Rule of 6'.
So, please do not be greedy!
Only book those rides you know you will definitely do, and leave space for others. This is especially true of the shorter / beginner rides ... if you're capable of riding over 20 miles easily, then please hang back on the shorter rides until nearer the time, to make space for women who may be more in need of the confidence boost of a Breeze ride early on.
If you're keen to join a ride but it doesn't appear when you search, that will be because it is full. We can send you a link to join a waiting list if this is the case. Just post a message here, or send us an email on [email protected].
If a particular ride proves particularly popular, we will see if one of the other Breeze Champions can assist and lead a separate group of 6 with a nice big gap between the two groups (some of the other Champions can't lead their own rides at the moment because they're waiting for appropriate First Aid training to be made available).
This is SO exciting, and we're really looking forward to welcoming you to Breeze (or back to Breeze if you've been out with us before). See you in April or May!

Autumn ride list for Breeze rides around Brighton & Hove.
For those that don't know, Breeze are FREE bikes rides for women, led by trained and insured female volunteer ride leaders (Breeze Champions). We ride at the pace of the slowest so no-one gets left behind, and this means we don't advertise a particular pace we aim to ride at.
Please share with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues, as well as booking any rides for yourself.
Booking essential (details at the bottom of the ride list in the 'small print') as many rides get full and rider numbers are limited for safety, enjoyment, and insurance reasons.
Any questions, ask here and the Brighton & Hove Breeze Co-ordinator Alison May Lewis will answer :-)

After reading this, I will be taking my banana skins home with me to go into my compost bin, rather than my previous practice of throwing into the nearest bush.
Something to think about when we're out on our rides. Gel wrappers are obvious ... fruit skins and cores less so.
Be honest - do you dispose of fruit litter on the mountains? After all, it's natural and biodegradable, right?
Well, an apple core can take two months to decompose. A banana skin or orange peel can take two years. So fruit litter should be carried off the mountain just as you would a crisp packet.
If in doubt, ask yourself this: would you be happy to leave it on your living room floor?
