Brymbo Blast vs Broughton

Tonight we welcomed Broughton to The Crick in a midweek friendly.
The lads came flying out the blocks playing with high tempo passing and getting in behind at every opportunity.
The lads controlled the tempo of the game with some absolutely fantastic 2 touch football to get us high up the pitch and pile the pressure on the opposition defence.
The lads work rate off the ball was a pleasure to see and the desire to take the game to the opposition was a real pleasure to observe.
Over the past few weeks the lads have really taken on everything we ask of them and it’s showing in the performances which is credit to these youngsters.

Coaches MOTM-
Eddie- After a great performance on Sunday this young man took the game to the opposition and was a warrior all over the pitch , driving forward and splitting the opposition defence with his wide range of passing and leading by example.

Opposition MOTM-
Kian- We asked the opposition coach and without hesitation he chose Kian who he said was solid at the back, his distribution from the back was flawless and his energy to not give the opposition a minute made him an easy choice.
Credit has to go to Kian as this is his 3rd award in as many matches and is really enjoying his football lately.
Well done Kian 🟠⚫️

Lastly but by no means least , thank you to the parents and siblings for the continued support of the boys it’s really appreciated.
Special mention to Arthur for making the brews tonight it was very much appreciated mate.

Match Report - Brymbo FC U9s vs Llangollen FC U9s - 20/09/2026

Brymbo Steel

Not a bad morning of football for the boys, although we were definitely a little off the pace this morning.

We struggled at times to get our passing game going and weren’t quite at our usual level, but thankfully we managed to come away with some positive results.

There’s definitely a bit of work to do in training after our week’s break, and plenty for the boys to take into the next training session.

Brymbo Blast

A strong start this morning from all the lads, showed good pressure great tactics and some really skilled football, unfortunately we faced a rather strong llan red team that played exceptionally well and we ended our first game as a draw but some really good football displayed!

We went on to play llan blue and did exactly the same again good pressure great tactics but unfortunately just couldn’t get the ball in the back of there net, we worked hard and it just wouldn’t pay off! A few of the lads were getting worked up they just couldn’t hit that target and unfortunately llan used that to there advantage and managed to squeeze a goal!

All the lads put there heart into it this morning and played some good football!

We took a bit of time to get going, leaving the ball to Llangollen during the first 5 minutes. Resisting well and then the boys grew into the game, getting more possession and pressing forward. This resulted in a wonderful team goal, with the ball moving well and a deserved outcome.

Second game again great teamwork from the get go with plenty of initiative driving the ball forward with nearly scoring a goal within 30seconds and then the boys kept going, just wasn’t getting in the net. The boys contained the Llangollen team well, with only a couple of threats from corner well defended and a well deserved draw.

Overall, the boys gave 110% this morning exactly what we asked of them 👏👏👏

Aston Park Rangers U10 Pumas Vs Brymbo Blast U10

A fantastic performance from Brymbo Blast U10 today against Aston Park Rangers Pumas. 🟠⚫

The lads started brightly and showed some really good high tempo passing throughout the game. Our passing and movement were excellent at times, with the boys looking to find space, support each other and play forward whenever the opportunity was there.

Going forward we created plenty of chances and showed some fantastic transitions, Just as pleasing was the work rate without the ball. Everyone worked hard for each other, tracked back and showed real determination when Aston Park put us under pressure.

There are still things for us to keep improving on in training, but the development of this group is great to see. Most importantly, the boys played with confidence, enjoyed their football and worked together as a team.

A big thank you to Aston Park Rangers for a competitive and enjoyable game, and well done to every Brymbo player involved. 👏

Opposition MOTM-
Haz- Commanding performance between the sticks and pulled off some fantastic saves when we were under pressure. His distribution from the back was superb and got his team high and on the attack at every opportunity. Well Done H 🟠⚫️

Parents/Coaches MOTM-

We asked the parents today as we were struggling as everyone deserved it today but we had to make a decision-
Kian - This lad never put a foot wrong today and his reading of the game and passing out from the back was a pleasure to watch. His confidence to carry the ball and get his teammates on the front foot was a really mature performance from this young man. Well done Kian 🟠⚫️

Albie G- Solid as a rock at the back along with Kian, these 2 are really striking up a partnership.
Albie was brave and strong and lead by example with pin point passing and calmness on the ball. Albie covered every blade of grass and got his reward with a goal and an assist. Well Done Albie G

Buckley Town

Our final league game before a two-week break saw us welcome Buckley Town in what was a fascinating game.

For large parts of the match, there was very little between the two teams, with both sides battling hard and creating chances. Buckley’s goalkeeper produced some outstanding saves throughout the game.

After a slow start, the boys really clicked into gear and grew stronger as the game went on. The middle and latter stages saw some brilliant football from the lads, with excellent passing, movement and teamwork on show.

A great effort from everyone involved and plenty of positives to take into the break. 👏⚽

Man of the match - Bailey 🔥

Bailey collected his second consecutive Opposition Man of the Match award this morning, while also scooping the Coaches’ Man of the Match after yet another excellent performance. 👏⚽

Bailey’s recovery when out of possession was outstanding once again, making crucial recoveries and stopping Buckley attacks on numerous occasions.

When he stepped into midfield, Bailey showed great composure and passing ability, bringing the attacking players into the game and helping to open up the pitch.

Another fantastic all-round performance from Bailey, who continues to show great consistency this season.

⚽ Brymbo FC U14s vs Skippy🟠⚫️

A challenging game for our Brymbo FC U14s today, with the boys working hard right until the final whistle.

The game finished 3–1 to Skippy. It was a physical and difficult match, with plenty of challenges and some moments that made it tough for the lads to get into their rhythm.

Despite this, the boys showed great determination and never gave up. They battled hard, supported each other and kept pushing right until the end.

Great morning up at the Crick for our U13s, who progressed in the Newfa Cup with a fantastic 16-0 victory over Penyffordd! 👏
This result continues the strong start the lads have made in the league, and it's great to see them carrying that form into the cup. 💪

After the match, we welcomed a familiar face back to the club! 🟠⚫
Connor has re-signed for the Steelmen after a couple of seasons away. We're delighted to have him back and can't wait to see him back on the pitch, showing everyone his quality. 🙌

Brymbo FC U10s Steel – Match Report
15/09/2026 | Broughton United (H)

A rearranged league fixture due to the holidays meant a game replaced training last night.

We asked the lads to start quickly and continue where they left off on Monday — and they responded superbly. 🔥

The boys came flying out of the traps, producing some breathtaking football which resulted in goals after 7 and 8 passing moves. ⚽️👏

As the game continued, Broughton slowly got back into it, but the lads held strong and continued to play their football. The quality of our play earned some high praise from the Broughton manager, which was great to hear.

Overall, it was a really good performance and probably the first time since the summer break that we looked back to our best. 💙

💪🏼 Opposition Man of the Match – Bailey

We didn’t even have to ask their manager for his Man of the Match — he chose Bailey without hesitation.

Bailey has become a massive part of the team since joining us in the summer, and he could be picked as Man of the Match every week without any arguments.

He leads the team from the back, organising those around him and demanding the best from everyone. Last night was no different.

Bailey was once again strong, vocal and brave in his defending and was the catalyst for the start of the majority of our attacks.

A fantastic performance from the back. 🔥

🔥 Coaches’ Man of the Match – George

Probably George’s best Brymbo performance in centre midfield since changing positions in the summer.

George played with flair and confidence, dominating the midfield and creating chance after chance for his teammates with skill and pinpoint passing.

He capped off an excellent all-round performance with two brilliant goals. ⚽️⚽️

A top performance from George, and thoroughly deserved.

⚽ Brymbo FC U14s vs Gresford ⚽️

What a game from our U14s today! 🧡🖤

The boys battled right until the final whistle in what was a fantastic game to watch. Every single player gave their all, showed great determination and never gave up, even when the game was going against them.

There were plenty of goals and excitement throughout, with Brymbo putting 6 goals on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, the final result went 9–6 to Gresford, but the scoreline doesn’t take away from the incredible effort shown by our lads.

Every player gave 100% and should be proud of their performance. 👏🏼🧡🖤

⚽️ **Brymbo Steel U10s Match Report** ⚽️

Tonight we welcomed JDC to the Crick. Before the game, we spoke about improving on yesterday’s performance, moving the ball quicker and, most importantly, doing so with more quality.

The lads started brilliantly and immediately put JDC under pressure, forcing their goalkeeper into a superb double save. The second save was a particularly brave block, unfortunately resulting in the keeper having to come off injured. We wish him a speedy recovery. 👏

After the brief stoppage, the lads continued their momentum and took control of the game. There was some fantastic football on display, with the goals shared around the attacking players and every player contributing to what was a top performance from goalkeeper through to attack. Goalkeeper Harrison stepping in tonight very assured and vocal between the sticks.

The lads ran out comfortable winners, but more importantly, showed a big improvement in the areas we had spoken about before kick-off. 👏🔥

A strong performance from Gio saw him picked as the Opposition MOTM. A constant threat throughout the game, Gio linked up really well with his teammates, grabbed himself a brace and also chipped in with some excellent defensive work. 👏

🔥 **Coaches’ Man of the Match – Oscar**

A constant menace throughout the game. Oscar was always looking to get on the ball, bring his teammates into play and make things happen. His decision-making was impressive, and he capped off a fantastic individual performance with four goals.

Another hardworking performance for the team. 👏⚽️🔥
