New Earswick All Blacks Under 15’s

Gameday!

Yesterday we travelled to East Leeds to take them on in the sunshine.

The game started off fairly even with the sides exchanging sets early before the game started opening up seeing East Leeds run in 24 points before halftime to give them a healthy advantage.

The second half began and the conditions began to play there part with the boys not giving in but they were beaten by an East Leeds side who continued to run tries in and make sure they came away with the win with the score finishing 58-0.

Lessons to take in to next week as we travel over to Kippax which will see another tuff battle.

Gameday!

Today we travelled over to face Featherstone Lions in what would be a tough encounter.

The first half of the game began and it was even for the first 10 minutes. After the 10 minute mark a few silly errors and penalties piggybacked Featherstone up the pitch and the pressure they put on got them rewards after some tough defence from the boys. They went 4-0 up. The boys didn’t give in during the first half although Featherstone went 80m to score.

The second half began and it was a completely different start as within the first few sets Noah burst through a gap to gain a vital try. Tails up the lads continued to work hard which eventually saw Ethan power over for a try that would send the boys in to the lead. After this it was similar to the first half error after error invited Featherstone up the pitch and they eventually scored off the back of that.

There is positives to take in to next week as we face Eastmoor.

Today we had a tough encounter against Keighley Albion. With the tough conditions the boys give an humongous effort both in attack and defence.

The game began and it was errors and penalties that gave Keighley field position which they used well to there advantage going 0-14 ahead but the boys didn’t give in they managed to claw a try back and take the game to Keighley. At half time the boys were still in it at 4-18

The second half kicked off and the boys continued there effort and got rewards scoring 2 tries to make it game on. Field position switched with the second half predominantly being played in Keighley half of the field. Ultimately that was not enough the scramble defence by Keighley won the game for them.

Plenty of positive things to take in to next week as we travel over to Featherstone Lions.

Yesterday we faced a tough Lock Lane side who have some quality in there ranks. The boys did not give in and defended heroically. Going in to the second half lock lane continued to show there quality putting on a 0-48 scoreline. No lack of effort from the boys and plenty to take in to next weeks game

Gameday!

Today the lads travelled over to Dewsbury Moor for a 3rd meeting of the season. Two teams that always have a close battle and it was today in parts. The boys started with 15 minutes pressure on the Dewsbury line but couldn’t come up with points. This ended up being costly as the boys went in to half time 10-0 down. The second half continued and Dewsbury kept making good ball count. With 5 minutes to go the boys got a try back through Harrison and it was the least they deserved with the effort shown throughout the game.

Plenty of lessons to take in to Lock Lane next week

Today we travelled over to local rivals Heworth. The boys up for this one and boy did they show it some great grit and determination to end up levelling the game with seconds to go. With the game finishing 18-18.

Gameday!

No league action this week for the boys. So a friendly against Beverley Brave was arranged it was a tough competitive game with end to end action. The boys showed some brilliant team spirit turning up for one and other facing some adversity along the way. Some things to work on in our trip to local rivals Heworth next week.

A return to league action yesterday for the boys against a solid East Leeds team. A close battle in the end in wet and windy conditions. The result didn’t go our way but some positives to take in to next weeks game.

Another game on the road for the lads today, unfortunately the game didn’t go our way playing a strong Eastmoor Side in the continuation cup.

The final result finishing 60-12. The boys did not give in and fought until the final whistle showing determination and grit. Plenty of lessons to take in to the next game.
