The University of York Law Society is currently in its 17th year and is the largest societies on campus. We provide excellent opportunities for both non-law and law students to meet with legal professionals from all walks of life enabling them to gain an understanding of the profession. Lottie Johnstone - Future Pupil Programme Coordinator, will provide an overview of the key stages of becoming a barrister, including insights into the BPC course, the Inns of Court scholarships, the pupillage process and the ULaw Selection process so that students feel equipped to make their applications and understand what is required to become a barrister.

We are looking for a new Press & Publicity Officer!

Seize this rare opportunity to be a part of our committee and promote legal career opportunities!

Your duties will include creating over 100+ unique promotional posts over the course of a year and managing the social media accounts of the Society! These responsibilities are directly transferrable to a legal career and will prove invaluable in applications and during interviews.

Submit your application and manifesto by Friday 25th September 2026. The by-election will occur on Monday 28th September 2026 @ 6:30pm.
