Vikings 2 lost 2 games against the two top teams in the league, but managed to get a commanding win against Raiders. Vali Moldovan, Stephen Rowley and Matt Theakstone were the respective MVPs.

A bit late, but here is the February round up. Ali Lyons and Andy Capes were the MVPs of the games played. The win and subsequent forfeit of by Hustlers 1, secured 4th place in the league for Vikings.

The final two players to join Vikings this season playing for Team 1 are Sam Melvin who has joined from Jorvik Warriors and also has trained with national league team Teeside Mohawks.
Nick Hutchinson previously also played for Jorvik Warriors and before that was at Kingston Panther (NL Div 4j and Scunthorpe Steelers.

Matt Theakstone, from the Viking junior program and former MVP and DPOY for Team 2, became the first player to play 100 Games for the Seniors since 2019.

Introducing 2 more new players this season for Team 2.
Jamie McMullen has trained in the past with the team and finally made the leap to join the Vikings. Jamie originally from Greater Manchester has played for the Manchester Critters and Rossendale Raptors. In York, Jamie has previously played with York St John University.
Adrian Kam is the third Viking to hail from Hong Kong. Adrian is currently studying at York University and also plays for the Uni 2nds BUCS team.

Vikings firsts had a mixed January, winning 1 game but losing 2. The respective Game MVPs were Nick Hutchinson, Jonny Copley and Charlie McNichol

The local derby was the final game of the season. With key players missing, Vikings still managed to play a competitive game until the final 2.5 minutes. A big run by Warriors at the end secured them a big win.

Seconds played their first derby of the season. Despite a good start, Vikings once again struggled against a press and were unable to recover from that. Jonathan Wetherley's career night and Nelvin Lau season high were not enough.

After nearly a month between games, the firsts where back in action with Nick Hutchinson and Melvin making their debuts. The gap between games showed in the beginning with the team making a number of turnovers allowing Demons to go on a big run. Despite improving and playing the home team at eye level for the rest of the game, the gap was to big for the Vikings to overcome.

With a break in games it is time to introduce two more new Vikings, that joined us in the beginning of the season.

Mark Strage our new stretch PF, hails from New York, and is over here for his Masters. Mark has previously played in the NYC Basketball League and in numerous of the famous NYC outdoor courts.

Jacob Cosquer, a former York Viking junior returns as a senior with the Vikings, bringing his endless energy to the Team. Between being a junior and senior Viking, Jacob has played for the Hull Kings in the HBA league.

Welcome to both.

Vikings seconds once again did not managed to start well. Despite career nights by Adrian Kam and Jacob Cosquer and a season high by Matt Theakstone, the rest of the team struggled to score. This turned out to be very costly against a very strong Calderdale Hawks team.
