We are delighted to welcome Preston to Rawcliffe Rangers ahead of the new season. 🖤🤍

A fantastic addition to the squad, Preston brings pace, power and strength, but it’s his quality on the ball that really stands out. Confident driving forward, capable of breaking lines with his passing, and a real threat in front of goal with his shooting, he’s a player who can influence games in a variety of ways.

With plenty of potential and a great attitude to match, we’re looking forward to helping Preston continue his development and seeing him become an important part of the team this season.

A really positive first outing of pre-season. ⚫⚪

For the first 60 minutes we were excellent. We controlled the game, played on the front foot, created plenty of chances and, on another day, could have been out of sight.

As legs got heavier we switched off for a few key moments, and those small lapses proved costly. Even after falling behind, the players showed great character to fight back and get level before conceding again.

Most importantly, we never stopped trying to attack, never gave up, and showed a much more aggressive, front-foot mentality than we’ve seen before.

Plenty of positives, plenty to learn, and a really strong platform to build on as pre-season continues.

Harry has been one of those players.

As one of our longest-serving players, Harry has been with us since the day I took over this team. Through every season, challenge and new chapter, he's been there giving absolutely everything for the badge.

You always knew what you were going to get from Harry. Commitment. Determination. Energy. A player who never backed out of a challenge, competed for every ball and put the team first every single time he stepped onto the pitch.

But more importantly, Harry is simply a brilliant kid.

He's someone who has been a pleasure to coach, someone his teammates have loved having around and someone who has represented Rawcliffe Rangers with pride every step of the way.

"Harry is one of those players every coach hopes to have.

From the day I took over this team, he's been there. Reliable, hardworking and someone who would always give everything, no matter the score or the opposition.

Not every contribution is measured by goals or assists. Sometimes it's about attitude, effort and the standards you set every week. Harry brought those qualities every single time he wore this shirt.

Watching him grow over the years has been a privilege. He's developed as a player, grown as a person and become someone I'm incredibly proud to have coached.

While he'll be hugely missed, this isn't really a goodbye—it's a thank you. Thank you for everything you've given this team, for every challenge, every tackle, every laugh and every moment you represented this club.

I genuinely believe Harry will be successful in whatever he chooses to do. That's because of the person he is, not just the footballer. Keep working hard, stay true to yourself and never lose that determination.

The ultimate team player who does the hard work others don't always see, while also finishing as our top goalscorer. A ruthless finisher and fully deserving of both awards.

📈 Most Improved – Lex

An incredible transformation this season. From a player with huge potential to a confident, aggressive defender and York Schoolboys representative. We're proud of how far you've come.

👥 Players' Player – Ty

Voted by his teammates, which says it all. Our captain, leader and the only player in our age group to earn a Leeds United trial this season.

👏 Parents' Player – Billie

Fearless, aggressive and incredibly consistent. A player who earns the respect of teammates, parents and opposition coaches every single week.

Reliable, composed and consistently outstanding. Always willing to put the team first and never lets us down. A thoroughly deserved Player of the Season.

🏆 Home Team MVP – Billie

Billie showed exactly why she's such an important player for us today. Whether in defence or midfield, she adapted to every challenge and showed real versatility throughout the tournament. Strong in the tackle, aggressive in the right way, and always willing to put her body on the line for the team.

“Billie did exactly what I asked today. Playing in defence and midfield, she was strong on and off the ball, made powerful runs to get us up the pitch and showed good, fair aggression throughout. Her versatility was a huge asset for the team today." – Coach Darren

🏆 Away Team MVP – Ty

A true captain's performance. Ty's leadership was a major reason his side reached the final, constantly encouraging teammates and setting the standard with his attitude and work rate. When the team needed a moment of quality, he delivered with a brilliant winning goal in the semi-final.

His leadership drove the team to the final, and his goal in the semi-final was a fantastic moment. Today we say goodbye to Lex as he moves on to a team closer to home and the chance to play alongside his school friends.

Although he has only been with us for a short time, Lex has made a huge impact on this team. He arrived as a good player and leaves as an even better one, thanks to the hard work, commitment and attitude he has shown every single week.

🗣️ Head Coach Ryan Coombs:

”This one genuinely hurts. Lex quickly became one of those players every coach loves working with. He listened, worked hard, improved massively and always gave everything for the team.

What stands out most isn’t just the player he’s become, but the person he is. He fitted into the group straight away, earned the respect of his teammates and became a big part of what we’re building here.

Of course we’re disappointed to lose him, but football is about being happy, enjoying the game and making memories with your friends. If this move helps him do that, then we’re fully behind him.

Thank you for everything you’ve given this team, Lex. You’ve left a bigger mark than you’ll probably realise and you’ll be massively missed by everyone at Rawcliffe Rangers. We wish you nothing but success for the future.”

Massive well done to everyone involved today 👏⚽️

The feedback from all the coaches helping out was clear… this was a really strong showing from the group against some very good sides.

Playing against high-level opposition, the boys and girls showed real fight, character and togetherness all day — pulling off some huge results and competing properly in every game. Exactly what you want to see from a team representing itself the right way.

Special mention as well to certain teams who maybe didn’t enjoy getting beat in the group stages as much as our players enjoyed winning it 👀😂

🏆 Tournament MVPs today go to Noah and Frankie.

Both were outstanding for their teams throughout the tournament — quality on the ball, work rate, attitude and big moments when it mattered most. Fully deserved recognition for two players who led by example all day. 👏🔥
