⚽️ Match Report ⚽️

Black Horse 6 - 1 Poppy Vets

A few late changes to the starting XI for Black Horse, with JFK a last-minute dropout (nature called 💩), but it didn’t disrupt the team’s rhythm one bit.

Black Horse came flying out of the blocks, piling on the pressure from the first whistle with wave after wave of attacks. The breakthrough came after 10 minutes when Rich found himself one-on-one with the keeper and calmly slotted home to make it 1-0.

The pressure didn’t ease, and shortly after, Matty M doubled the lead with a well-taken header to put Black Horse firmly in control. Poppy Vets struggled to get out of their own half, and when they did, the Black Horse back four stood strong and dealt with everything comfortably.

With 10 minutes left of the first half, Rich grabbed his second of the game with another composed finish, this time assisted by Ahmed—his second assist of the match. At 3-0, it looked like smooth sailing… but football always has its moments. Out of nowhere, Poppy took a quick free kick from inside their own half, launched it forward, and a looping ball somehow drifted over Nikos head and into the net—more a mis**t cross than a shot, but it counted.

Half-time: 3-1

The second half started much like the first, with Black Horse dominating possession high up the pitch. Matty delivered a floated free kick that evaded everyone and found its way into the net to make it 4-1.

The midfield trio of Matty M, Rich, and “The Dictator” controlled the game brilliantly, spraying passes around and dictating the tempo, while the defence remained solid at the back.

Col then added a moment of magic, rifling a rocket into the top corner for 5-1, before Ahmed capped off a brilliant performance with a goal of his own—showing great skill to beat four players before coolly finishing.

A dominant performance from start to finish with plenty more chances that could’ve added to the scoreline.

👏 Great game from everyone!

Match Report | Corinthians 0–0 Black Horse

The Black Horse travelled to Corinthians looking to avenge our 2–1 defeat earlier in the season. Despite having a strong squad available on the morning of the game, two late drop-outs meant we went into the match with just one substitute against a very strong Corinthians side.
The opening stages were cagey, with both teams trading half-chances from distance. Bash caused problems down the left and forced a top save from the Corinthians keeper, who tipped his long-range effort around the post. Corinthians had a few moments themselves but failed to seriously test Niko in goal.
The second half saw both sides make changes, but it was the Black Horse who came out flying. We played some beautiful football, with most of our attacks coming down the left. Ahmed was pushed up top and Tino moved out wide, nearly paying off when Ahmed narrowly missed the target after a goalmouth scramble.
The pressure kept coming. Matty unleashed an absolute beauty from around 35 yards that the keeper somehow tipped onto the bar. Wave after wave of Black Horse attacks followed, though we were caught a couple of times on the break as Corinthians went more direct.
A proper end-to-end game despite the scoreline. Both defences stood tall, and in truth both sides earned their clean sheets.

✅ 5 games unbeaten
🧤 2 clean sheets
📈 A performance miles better than the reverse fixture

Plenty of positives to take – this team is building nicely. 💪⚽

Match Report:
York Dukes 1–2 The Black Horse

The Black Horse made the trip to face the York Dukes in challenging conditions, with constant rain throughout the game leaving the pitch heavy and boggy and making fluid football difficult.
Despite the conditions, the Jolly Boys started brightly and got off to a flying start, creating several early opportunities that unfortunately went untaken. The Dukes responded with a couple of half chances of their own, but it was The Black Horse who struck first. Matty rifled a superb shot from outside the box that flew past the helpless keeper to give the visitors a 1–0 lead.
Before half-time, The Black Horse continued to press. Col tested the Dukes’ keeper with a driven effort, while James came agonisingly close at the back post but couldn’t quite make contact. The teams went into the break with The Black Horse holding a narrow advantage.

At half-time, changes were made, with Tino replacing Col. Almost immediately from the restart, Tino was presented with a half chance, but his effort was dragged wide. As the rain continued, the pitch deteriorated further and the game became increasingly scrappy—conditions that began to suit the Dukes.
The Dukes enjoyed a strong spell and came close to equalising when the ball ricocheted around the edge of the box before a Dukes midfielder unleashed a fierce strike that looked destined for the top corner. Nicko produced a moment of brilliance, showing great athleticism to tip the ball wide in what was an outstanding save.
Momentum remained with the Dukes, and they eventually found their equaliser. A simple ball through midfield released the Dukes’ left winger, who went one-on-one with the keeper and finished calmly to make it 1–1.
The Black Horse showed real character after conceding and began to move the ball with confidence once again. Josh, who had put in a tireless performance across multiple positions, was moved to the right wing and became a constant threat. On one occasion, he broke through and squared the ball to Tino, whose spinning effort was saved before the Dukes cleared their lines.
Rich then delivered a perfect cross into the box, and Stampy rose like a salmon to meet it, only to see his powerful header fly just over the bar. Rich continued to grow in influence and terrorised the Dukes’ back line. After an excellent run down the left and a cut inside the box, a heavy challenge from a Dukes defender could easily have resulted in a penalty. However, the ball rolled kindly to Tino, who took one touch before smashing it into the roof of the net to restore The Black Horse’s lead with ten minutes remaining.
In the closing stages, The Black Horse pushed hard for a third goal and created several more chances, but none were converted. The visitors managed the final moments well and saw out the game to secure a deserved 2–1 away victory.

It was an excellent contest in difficult conditions, with both teams contributing to an entertaining match. Man of the Match was impossible to choose, as there were too many standout performances across the pitch.

Match Report

Black Horse 2–2 Fulford

A game of two very different halves ended all square as Black Horse showed real character to fight back from two goals down.

Black Horse started the game brightly and created a couple of early chances, looking sharp and on the front foot. However, against the run of play, Fulford took the lead with their very first attack to make it 1–0. That goal seemed to knock the rhythm out of the Black Horse lads, and the quality dropped massively. Fulford punished this spell, doubling their lead with only their second shot on goal.

Stand-in keeper Jordan was kept busy and made a couple of decent saves to ensure the score stayed at 2–0 heading into half time.

The gaffer knew something wasn’t working and shuffled the pack at the break, reverting to five in midfield. The changes had an immediate impact. From the off in the second half, Black Horse created two good chances and looked right back in the contest. On a questionable pitch, the game turned into end-to-end stuff.

After some excellent build-up play, Sam found himself with acres of space on the edge of Fulford’s box and fired a tidy finish into the bottom corner to make it 2–1. That goal gave Black Horse real belief and completely swung the momentum.

Wave after wave of Black Horse attacks followed, with Fulford’s defence just about holding firm. Eventually the pressure told. A great move down the right saw Bash slip in Mariah, who produced what can only be described as a worldie from 40 yards out (or a tap-in from four yards 😉) to level the game at 2–2. Unfortunately, Mariah picked up an injury in the process, forcing another reshuffle with limited options on the bench.

Both sides had chances to win it. Black Horse’s best opportunity fell to Troy, who only needed to square the ball to Plus 1 for a simple tap-in, but somehow sent it out for a throw-in instead! Fulford also had their moments, most notably missing an open goal after Jordan was dispossessed outside his box, firing wide to Black Horse’s relief.

The game finished 2–2, with Black Horse showing real fight and quality in the second half. A much improved performance after the break and a point that felt well earned. 💪⚽

Final Score: Black Horse 9 – 0 York Dukes

What a performance from the lads today! From the first whistle to the last, the Black Horse were completely in control, delivering an outstanding display of teamwork, composure, and clinical finishing. 💪⚽

Goalscorers:
⚽⚽ Al (2)
⚽⚽ Pogba (2)
⚽ Bash
⚽ Josh
⚽ Sean
⚽ Matty M
⚽ Ahmed

From the first whistle the lads pressed high and set the tone early. The midfield duo of Matty M (Slim Shady) and Sean (The Dictator) completely ran the show, winning every second ball and keeping us on the front foot throughout.

Too many goals to even remember the order they went in, but there were standout performances all over the pitch:

Al (Postcode) was unstoppable on the right wing, bagging himself 2 goals and causing problems all game.

Josh (JFK) put in another quality shift at centre back — solid defensively, grabbing a goal, and helping secure the clean sheet.

Matty M (Slim Shady) continued his top form with some superb assists and a well-taken goal.

But Man of the Match went to Sean (The Dictator), who not only curled in a beautiful finish that Rich would’ve been proud of, but also completely bossed the midfield from start to finish. 💫

We also welcomed back Snorbz, who was a rock at the back, and a big shoutout to Niko, who earned a clean sheet on his Black Horse – Jolly Boys debut. 🧤🖤

A brilliant team performance, nine goals, and a clean sheet — couldn’t ask for much more. On to the next one! 🙌⚽

⚽ Match Report: Black Horse - Jolly boys 6–2 Easingwold Town AFC Vets

After losing last week against Corinthians and ending our unbeaten run, the Jolly Boys came out fired up and ready to get back to winning ways 💪

We had to shuffle things around this week, with Snorbz – our ever-reliable rock at the back – faking concussion just to get a few days’ “recovery” at Hotel NHS 🏥😂

Matty stepped up, and after a few changes to the side that started last week(and Tino being his usual punctual self ⏰), Colin got the nod up front.

It didn’t take long for him to make an impact – within 5 minutes he bullied the ball off their centre-back and calmly slotted into the bottom corner ⚽🔥

Col quickly doubled his tally and the Jolly Boys were playing some quality football. The only negative? It was still only 2–0 despite all the chances.

Then, just before half-time, the Easingwold striker went down easier than a cocaine-addicted ho**er 😳 and the ref couldn’t point to the spot fast enough. They tucked it away to make it 2–1 at the break.

---

Second half started like the first – Sean and Rich were running the show in midfield, Al had the freedom of the right wing, and Tino came on determined to outscore Col.

Didn’t take him long… Tino got straight on the scoresheet to make it 3–1, then Ahmed followed up soon after for 4–1.

At the back, Josh and Matty formed a proper Stam–Ferdinand partnership 🧱👏

Then Josh must’ve thought he was playing for Big Sam, launching a hoof from the back that went the full length of the pitch. Tino chased it down, hit a half-volley from a tight angle and buried it! 🚀
Cue Josh claiming the assist and a sudden rush of blood to… somewhere 😅

With both Col and Tino on two goals, the gaffer threw down the challenge: whoever scores the most starts next game.
Tino didn’t mess about — smashed in another to make it 6–1 🎯

At that point, the Boys were cruising. Col, Rich, and Sean all had chances denied by the Easingwold keeper who was having a cracking game despite the scoreline 👏

Late on, Easingwold grabbed a consolation — looked about three miles offside — but after a great save by Marv, the rebound was lobbed over Josh’s head to make it 6–2.

---

🧡 Full Time: Jolly Boys 6–2 Easingwold Town

A proper team performance, full of fight, laughs, and goals. Fair play to Easingwold too — good effort from a newly formed side.

The referee had a great game aswell considering his age(14/15) and didnt take any s**t from either side and managed the game perfectly.

🏆 Man of the Match: Josh
(much to the strikers’ dismay 😤😂)
