European Fencing Confederation

The EFC is the international body charged with the promotion and development of fencing in Europe. In 2009, the EFC passed its articles of confederation.

The European Fencing Confederation (EFC) was founded on 26th October, 1991 in Vienna, Austria. Visiting Montenegro to finalize preparations for next year’s U23 Championship.
I had the pleasure of meeting with the President of the National Olympic Committee , Dušan Simonović, the General Director of the Sports Directorate , Zoran Jojić, and the Secretary for Sport of the City of Podgorica
, Darko Nikčević.

All stakeholders expressed a very positive attitude towards the Montenegrin candidacy and assured their full support. I am very optimistic about delivering a great event in Podgorica in 2027, which will further strengthen the young fencing federation under the dynamic leadership of Dejan Đurašković.

As President, I have always insisted on the importance of the clubs in our sport, because they are where our passion begins.
Whenever possible I take the time to visit them, as it's where the passion start.
This weekend was especially meaningful for me.
I had the great joy of opening the refurbished fencing hall of my home club, . The photos show just how long the road has been over 30 years to reach this beautiful modern salle.
