This initiative is aimed at motivating players, strengthening grassroots participation, and keeping the spirit of Ultimate alive in our communities.

GFDF Management yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to discuss key issues relating to the growth and development of disc sports in Ghana.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration, expanding opportunities for youth participation, and positioning disc sports as a major contributor to Ghanaβs sporting landscape.
We are excited about the positive engagement and the shared commitment to advancing disc sports nationwide. The future is bright, and together we are building stronger pathways for athletes across the country.

π₯ GFDF Hosts Successful 2026 National Coaches Training Workshop! π₯
On Saturday, 14th February 2026, the Ghana Flying Disc Federation (GFDF) successfully organized one of its biggest events of the year β the 2026 National Coaches Training Workshop at Nungua Town Park, Accra.
The workshop was facilitated by Frisbee Connects from Netherlands
The workshop brought together passionate coaches, PE teachers, sports leaders, and emerging trainers from across Ghana for an intensive day of learning, skill development, and collaboration.
Participants were taken through:

Rules interpretation and game management

Athlete development pathways

Safety and injury prevention

Spirit of the Game principles
β
Grassroots expansion strategies
This workshop represents a major step in strengthening coaching capacity and building a structured future for flying disc sports in Ghana.

π¬ππ€π³π± FRISBEE CONNECTS PROJECT UPDATE
The Frisbee Connects Project, aimed at supporting efforts to introduce and develop Ultimate Frisbee in Ghana, is well on course!
We successfully held an exciting and impactful workshop at Teshie Dar-Es Salam Islamic Basic School, and it was a huge success. Students were introduced to the fundamentals of Ultimate, Spirit of the Game, teamwork, and basic throwing skills β and their energy was incredible!
This initiative is another important step toward expanding grassroots disc sports development in Ghana. We are grateful to our partners from Frisbee Connects (Netherlands) for their commitment and collaboration.
The journey continues β and the future of Ultimate in Ghana is bright! π

Right after touching down in Ghana, FrisbeeConnects officially kicked off their Ultimate Frisbee Development Project with GFDF β and Day 1 was a success!
Energy, learning, inclusion, and shared passion for the sport defined the first day. This project is about building skills, empowering coaches and athletes, promoting girlsβ participation, and growing disc sports from the grassroots.
Weβre excited about what lies ahead and the impact this project will have on young people across Ghana. π
