2024 SAPHOLDA HOCKEY LEAGUE (SHL) - WEEK 2 PREVIEW

The SHL continues this weekend with exciting duels in all categories.

The u21 category commences this weekend with new entrants Hockey is the Reason academy taking on Young Financiers. In the other u21 game, Ark Boys will face Tema Manhean on Sunday.

Citizens International HC will look to bounce back to winning ways as they take on former champions - Sapholda HC. The other game in the master’s category will see Golden Sticks lock horns with NDK Financiers.

In the women’s category, Reformers Ladies of the Ghana Prisons Service will face Fire Extinguishers of the Ghana Fire Service to grab their first win of the campaign after sharing the spoils with Ghana Police Ladies HC on match day one. Legon Knights Ladies HC after a disappointing opening fixture will hope to reduce the goals this time as they face Police Ladies HC. Defending Champions, GRA ladies (Royal Ladies) will wrap up match week two in the ladies’ category with fierce competition against Army Ladies HC.

GRA Men HC and Police Men HC will start the men’s category in week two as they face off in a grueling encounter on Friday. On Saturday, 2020 GUSA gold medalists and debutants, the University of Ghana male Hockey team will battle it out with Ark Men. The third match of the men’s category will also feature former champions and 2022 ACCC silver medalists Exchequers HC of the Bank of Ghana and defending Sapholda league champions, Army Men HC in a must-win for both sides. LegonKnights Men HC will seek to make it two wins out of two matches as they face Reformers Men in the last game of match week two.

What a day of action 🎥 🏑. Game week one results!!!

The wait is finally over! The 2024 SAPHOLDA Hockey League officially gets underway in a couple of days, with an exciting opening featuring GRA MEN and Reformers Men.

Every team gets to start on a clean slate and the race for the trophy commences anew. Expect nail biting rivalries, breakout performances and even more high octane action all season.
