The Ghana Education Service currently has the following Divisions with several units....

2. HR Management & Development
3. Finance
4. Procurement & Supply Chain Management
5. ICT/EdTECH
6. Policy Planning, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation
7. Inclusive Education
8. Schools & Instructions

But, before we leave, kindly take note of the following:

1. Teacher Education Division
2. Curriculum Research & Development Division
3. Technical Education Division

They are No More Divisions of the Ghana Education Service.

Teaching in an environment where the kids in the school see the kids of the teachers attend different schools is a big issue.

Sometimes, this may result in disciplinary challenges, poor performance and absenteeism.

Miss V, want you to thread cautiously when your kids are not in your school.

Sometimes, it is also difficult yo deal with the kids of the teachers in the same school.

RE: THE GHANAIAN TEACHER SHOULD BE RESPECTED

Recent media engagements have sought to cast a slur on Teaching, the most important profession in the world.

Discussing, our plight in such a derogatory manner is not the type that we would accept as members of this noble profession.

My worry however, is that these messages are been spewed with lots of misinformation and disrespect, yet the authors pretend they are fighting for the teacher.

My simple message to the teacher is that, you should not be swayed by some of this Jandam.

Master don't confuse yourself with what some populist movement are saying. They want to look relevant.

We may have lots of challenges in the teaching profession. Yes, I agree.

But, the truth is that, we are better off than some Public Servants in Ghana.

Sometimes, some people want to tell us we are been cheated when the truth is that they are rather underpaid and envious of our salaries. Some of them will sit on their platform and asking why we should be taking so much as a salary.

I remember, one afternoon, some members of an Fm Station where discussing the performance of our learners after the recent BECE results. Some of them, were of the view that government should take a second look at his schools and why he should continue to pay the teachers after scoring ZERO PERCENT.

Those who are trumpeting about the 'supposed poor treatment' meted out to the Ghanaian teacher should tell us what they are earning every month.

How many Journalists in Ghana have a 4 wheel drive? We may not be driving in the best cars, best houses, best dresses, etc, but the truth is that we are better off than some workers in the Public Service including some of you media people.

Nobody charge teachers for Workshop. What we pay during some Workshop is for our own Professional Development. This practice is in all Public Services.

Who said Journalists do not pay for Workshop they attend?

We cannot say all is juicy, but the truth is that the Ghanaian teacher is not that bad.

We have several Journalists in Ghana receiving less than 2,000 cedis a month. I know of some Journalists who take about 1,000 as their take home pay.

When people cheat and exploit the general public in the name of 'SOLI', same people do not have the moral right to complain about the conditions of service of the Ghanaian teacher.

Sometimes, I don't blame them, I blame ourselves as teachers.

Tell those same people to discuss the salaries they take and in the next 10 minutes their pay masters would sack them.

I will be happier if some of these so-called Latter Days Advocates of the Ghanaian teacher spend sometime and discuss their own profession and leave us alone. After all, such advocacy would not increase the salaries of the Ghanaian teacher.
