You know that game where you have to grab the cup the second you hear “cup”? 👀

Well… we gave it a ballet twist 🩰✨

While the dancers were fully locked in listening, reacting, and trying not to miss their moment, they were also secretly putting in the work. Building focus, sharpening concentration, and strengthening those back muscles to help hold their arms beautifully in ballet.

Because at LESD, even our games have purpose 😉

Now tell me… would you try this in your dance studio?

Today, put our Grade 2 dancers to the test! She picked 3 ballet movements, and the dancers had to tell her exactly what they mean in English 👀

It wasn’t just about doing the steps, it was about understanding them. Watching their faces light up as they remembered, guessed, and even helped each other was everything 💕

At LESD, we don’t just train dancers. We build confident, thinking artists who know their craft inside and out. Because knowing the “why” behind the movement makes every step stronger, smarter, and more beautiful 💫

How many ballet terms do YOU know? 👇🏽😉

Tiny steps, big imagination ✨👑

Our Babies had the sweetest time doing their Princess Walks, gliding, twirling, and practicing their royal posture as they prepared for the ball 💫

At LESD, we believe learning ballet should feel like an adventure, so we turn our classes into magical moments of dress-up, storytelling, and make-believe.

From picking their “gowns” to curtsying like little royals, every exercise becomes exciting, expressive, and full of joy. Because when children are having fun, they learn with confidence and that’s where the real magic happens 🩰💖

Turnout is the foundation of ballet technique—it’s not just about how it looks, but how the body works.

True turnout comes from the hips, not the knees or feet. It relies on deep external rotator muscles like the glutes, deep hip rotators, and inner thighs working together to support and control movement.

When turnout is used correctly, it creates strength, stability, and clean lines. When it’s forced, it leads to poor alignment and injury.

At LESD, we focus on building turnout the right way—through strength, awareness, and consistency. 🩰

Growth in ballet comes from being present.

At LESD, attendance is so important to us because it supports each dancer’s journey, helping them get stronger, more confident, and more secure in their technique.

At LESD, we’re embracing ballet in a way that feels true to us 💃🏾✨

Our Adult Ballet classes have been dancing to Afrobeats—and I’ve been loving it. The technique remains, the intention remains, but the vibe? Fresh, vibrant and full of life.

It’s a reminder that ballet can grow, shift and still remain beautiful.

From all of us at LESD 🩰

Today reminded us of the beauty in surrender, the power in stillness, and the grace that carries us through every step.

We’re starting the week strong 💪🏽✨

Miss Aseye putting our Grade 1 & 2 dancers through their paces in our compulsory Body Conditioning class 🩰

Building core strength early helps our dancers with balance, posture, and overall control — the true foundation behind every beautiful movement.

And they’re doing it so well 🤍
