The GFF Presidential Debate was expected to give the football community an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to lead Gambian football.

However, when the time came, only Sadibou Kamaso appeared before the public.

Kemo Ceesay’s team cited concerns about media transparency and fairness as their reason for not attending. Colonel Musa Jammeh and Amadou LS Jaiteh also did not participate.

Their absence leaves many questions unanswered.

A presidential debate is not just about the media. It is about accountability, transparency, and presenting your vision to clubs, stakeholders, players, coaches, and football supporters.

If there are concerns about fairness, the football community deserves a clear explanation. If there are deeper issues, they should be openly discussed.

Today, Sadibou Kamaso was the only candidate willing to sit before the public and answer questions. Agree with him or disagree with him, he showed up.

Leadership requires visibility. Leadership requires engagement. Leadership requires facing questions, especially during an election campaign.

The delegates will ultimately decide who becomes the next GFF President, but today’s debate will be remembered for one reason: only one candidate took the opportunity to address the football community.
