Sibanor United Inaugurate its Football Academy

In a joyous, colourful, and memorable ceremony portraying the development of football in Foni, Sibanor United Football Club has inaugurated its football academy, a feeder team for its divisional side.

The development is a testament of creating avenues for young talents within the region, addressing challenges of player scouting to integrate in its senior team.

The inaugural ceremony is welcomed by the West Coast Region Football Academies Association (WCRFAA), completing the efforts of our stakeholders in talent nurturing and development.

Addressing the gathering, Samba Keita, the president of Sibanor United Football Club, reiterates his commitment to maintain the existence of the club, hence the idea of introducing an academy of talents for sustenance.

He cited the importance of education, ethical principles, and standardised practices of discipline.

"We are making sure that all players in the academy go to school. If parents can't afford their school expenses, we are willing to enrol them in school. Every player is forbidden to smoke. If anyone is found wanting, it will be automatically expelled from the academy," he stressed.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Yahya Manneh, the Gambia's U17 head coach, Lamin (Del) Fadera, the secretary general of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG), Sarjo (Ganso) Sowe, the 3rd vice president of the West Coast Region Football Association (WCRFA), among other dignitaries.
