Evia Trail Long Distance Hike from Eretria to Kymi. Διαδρομή πεζοπορίας απο την Ερέτρια μέχρι την Κύμη Trails are our heritage which needs to be sustained.

To γκρουπ αυτό είναι αφοσιώμενο στη συντήρηση και επέκταση των πεζοπορικών και ποδηλατικών μονοπατιών της Εύβοιας. Τα μονοπάτια είναι η κληρονομιά μας και πρέπει να διατηρούνται. / This group is dedicated in maintaining & expanding the walking & cycling trails on the island of Evia.

🇬🇷 Στενή - Στρόπωνες
Ο έβδομος καθαρισμός της χρονιάς στο μονοπάτι από το Κόνισμα προς Στρόπωνες.🌲🌲
Σήμερα το μενού είχε καθαρισμό μονοπατιού, αποκάλυψη και αποδέσμευση για το ποτιστικά λάστιχα από την βλάστηση. Συναντήσαμε και άλλους πεζοπόρους με το σκυλάκι τους μέσα στο μονοπάτι...Σε κάθε καθαρισμό που κάνουμε βλέπουμε πως υπάρχει αντίκρυσμα.
Οι καθαρισμοί τώρα το καλοκαίρι δεν συνεχίζονται, αλλά θα συνεχιστούν τον Νοέμβρη εκτός απροόπτου. Για περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες να επικοινωνείτε απευθείας στη σελίδα.

The 7th trail clearing of the year on the trail from Steni to Stropones.🌲🌲
Today’s tasks included clearing the path, uncovering and freeing the watering hoses from the undergrowth. We also met a group with their dog walking the trail. It is so promising that users are now using the trails more and more...
The clean-ups will not continue this summer, but will resume in November, unless some urgent cleanups are planned!!!.

Update from 8/6/26...

After an overnight in Hotel Steni, the couple from Germany were intending to walk all the way from Steni to Stropones, but being already quite warm they opted for a lift to the top of Dirfys pass (having already booked their luggage transport) in order to enjoy the flat and downhill sections towards Stropones village.

They enjoyed grand views and green hiking paths...

Ο έκτος καθαρισμός της χρονιάς στο μονοπάτι από το Κόνισμα προς Στρόπωνες.🌲🌲
Ακόμη μια μέρα στο μονοπάτι που ξεκινάει μετά την άσφαλτο και την πηγή Κόνισμα, που καταλήγει στούς Στρόπωνες.
Σήμερα το μενού είχε καθαρισμό μονοπατιού, αποκάλυψη και αποδέσμευση για το ποτιστικά λάστιχα από την βλάστηση (τελικά ένα φαρμακείο είναι πάντοτε αναγκαίο, ακόμη και αν είναι για μπάλωμα λάστιχου)

Οι καθαρισμοί τώρα το καλοκαίρι δεν συνεχίζονται, αλλά θα συνεχιστούν τον Νοέμβρη εκτός απροόπτου. Για περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες να επικοινωνείτε απευθείας στη σελίδα.

The fifth trail cleanup of the year on the trail from Steni to Stropones.🌲🌲
Another day on the footpath that starts just beyond the tarmac and the Konisma spring, and ends in Stropones.
Today’s tasks included clearing the path, uncovering and freeing the watering hoses from the undergrowth (obviously, a first-aid kit is always essential, even if it’s just for patching a hose).

The clean-ups will not continue this summer, but will resume in November, unless some urgent cleanups are planned!!!.

The second group to walk the Evia trail on self-guided mode with luggage transfers on their second hiking day from Theologos to Steni.
The begining of June is already quite hot but water is still flowing in the streams among the valleys.

The second group to walk the Evia Trail is on it's way to Kymi

Two hikers from Germany have completed almost all long distance hikes in Greece(Menalon Trail, Andros Routes, Corfu, Crete, and Vikos gorge hike) and they were looking for more.

They found info online and they planned their Evia Port to Port experience ahead of time.

At the beginning they planned to do the whole trip unassisted but arriving in Evia on the 5th of June the temperature was already above 30 degrees.

Many thanks to Evia Tours & Cruises for their accommodation bookings but also luggage transfers which was actually decided last minute due to the extra hot days..

Ο πέμπτος καθαρισμός της χρονιάς στο μονοπάτι από τον Στενή προς Στρόπωνες.🌲🌲
Ακόμη μια μέρα στο μονοπάτι που ξεκινάει μετά την άσφαλτο και την πηγή Κόνισμα, που καταλήγει στις Στρόπωνες.
Σήμερα φτάσαμε στην γέφυρα της Βρουκαλίας..για ακόμη μια μέρα καθαρίστηκε βλάστηση στο μονοπάτι, έγινε σοβαρή διόρθωση σε σκαλοπάτια καθώς και εργασίες εκτροπής τρεχούμενου νερού από το μονοπάτι...επίσης επισημάνθηκε νέα χάραξη η οποία προσδίδει φανταστική θέα στο ποτάμι.

Οι βροχές δεν μας σταματάνε!!!!

Another day on the trail that starts after the asphalt road and the Konisma spring, ending in Stropones.
Today we reached the Vroukalia bridge... for another day, vegetation was cleared from the trail, serious repairs were made to the steps, and work was done to divert running water off the trail... A new route was also marked out, offering a fantastic view of the river.

The rain won't stop us!!!!

🇬🇷 Στενή - Στρόπωνες
Ο τέταρτος καθαρισμός της χρονιάς στο μονοπάτια από τον Στενή προς Στρόπωνες.🌲🌲
Σήμερα συνεχίσαμε το μονοπάτι που ξεκινάει μετά την άσφαλτο και την πηγή Κόνισμα, που καταλήγει στις Στρόπωνες.
Έγινε χάραγμα νέων γραμμών, καθαρίστηκε η βλάστηση ώστε το μονοπάτι να είναι πιο ευδιάκριτο και γενικά έγιναν μερικές παρεμβάσεις σε μερικά σημεία για την εκτροπή του νερού μέσα απο το μονοπάτι.
Μέσα στο μονοπάτι συναντήσαμε πάλι πεζοπόρους από την Αθήνα που ξεκίνησαν απο την ράχη με προορισμό τους Στρόπωνες. Μας έδωσαν συγχαρητήρια και τα φανταστικά μονοπάτια της περιοχής και συνέχισαν την πορεία τους.

The fourth cleanup of the year on the trail from Steni to Stropones.🌲🌲
Today we continued on the trail that starts after the asphalt road and the Konisma spring, which leads to Stroppones.
New lines were carved, vegetation was cleared to make the trail more visible, and in general, some interventions were made in a few places to divert water away from the trail.

On the trail, we met hikers again from Athens who had started from the top of the trail and were heading for Stropones. They congratulated us on the fantastic trails in the area and continued on their way.

Ο τρίτος καθαρισμός της χρονιάς στο μονοπάτια από τον Στενή προς Στρόπωνες.🌲🌲
Σήμερα τελειοποιήσαμε το μονοπάτι που ξεκινάει μετά την άσφαλτο και την πηγή Κόνισμα, που καταλήγει στις Στρόπωνες.
Συνεχίσαμε την ήδη φανταστική δουλειά που έκανε ο ΕΟΣ Χαλκίδος στην αρχική διάνοιξη, άλλο λίγο και θα βάζαμε και ηλεκτρική σκούπα. Βελτιώθηκε η βατότητα, σκάψαμε αρκετά πρανή ώστε να δημιουργηθεί πιο φαρδύ πάτημα, κόπηκαν και απομακρύνθηκαν ξερά έλατα από το μονοπάτι και επαναδιαμορφώθηκαν τα σκαλοπάτια που βρίσκονται στον έξοδο προς το επόμενο κομμάτι του μονοπατιού. Στόχος για τις επόμενες ημέρες να βγούμε στο ρέμα της Βρουκαλιάς.

Οι εθελοντές μας απο Χαλκίδα, Καράμπαμπα και Ερέτρια έδωσαν το παρόν για άλλη μία φορά με αυξανόμενο ενδιαφέρον!!!

Steni - Stropone
The third trail clearing of the year on the trails from to Steni to Stropones.🌲🌲

Today we finished up the trail that starts after the asphalt and the Konisma spring, leading to Stropones.
We continued the already fantastic work done by EOS Chalkis Hiking Club in the initial clearing, we nearly used a broom....!!!. We cleared the blockage from fallen trees, dug several bench cut trails to create a wider passage, and reshaped the steps at the exit to the next section of the trail. Our goal for the next few days is to reach the Vroukalia stream.

Our volunteers from Chalkida, Karababa, and Eretria were present once again with growing interest!!!!
