1230 pm: SUPER TYPHOON SINLAKU CONTINUES TOWARD THE CNMI

In the 11:14am 4-14-2026 NWS Guam Public Advisory , Sinlaku was located 70 miles southeast of Saipan, moving northwest at 10 mph. Maximum sustained winds were 165 mph.

Sinlaku remains a powerful category-5 super typhoon.

Residents across the Mariana Islands should remain in safe shelter now and through the passage of this typhoon.

The steady escalation of winds across Tinian and Saipan will soon reach typhoon force this afternoon with a subsequent rapid increase in winds through the afternoon and evening hours.
