Two Primary Class teams from Hong Kong ( & ) were invited to participate in the F1 in Schools UK National Finals 2024 held on March 12 and achieved excellent results. 🏎️💨

Both teams were presented with the International Recognition of Achievement Award. also secured the Judges' Choice Award and was nominated for the Verbal Presentation Award.🎖️

Our participants also received words of encouragement from Mr. Andrew Denford, Chairman and Founder of , and Mr. Kelvin Shek, Regional Coordinator of . We express our gratitude for introducing this meaningful initiative to us and the students! 🙏

Today, we successfully organized the first official Primary Class Regional Competition in Hong Kong. Numerous exceptionally talented young students from various primary schools participated in this exhilarating event. 🏎️💨

In the Primary Class category, participants showcased their engineering prowess by racing their paper model cars, propelled by a 4-gram compressed gas cylinder, on a 24-meter track. These young engineers dedicated weeks to the design, fabrication, and testing of their cars in preparation for today's competition. 🛠️

Huge congratulations to the victorious teams (🥇 🥈 🥉) who have earned the opportunity to compete in the National Finals in the United Kingdom in 2024! 👏 Moreover, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all participants, parents, teachers, and esteemed guests for gracing today's event with their presence. 🙇

來自香港小學組的獲勝隊伍將於2024年在英國進行比賽 🏁

今天，我們成功地舉辦了首次官方的香港區小學組比賽。多名暨年輕又具才華的小學生參加了這場令人振奮的活動。🏎️💨

在小學組級別，參賽者需在24米長的賽道上賽跑他們的紙製模型車，展示了他們的工程才能。模型車是由4克重的壓縮氣體驅動，速度相當快。這班年輕的工程師花了數周的時間設計、製作和測試他們的模型，以準備今天的賽事。🛠️

Recently, we and our partner have successfully organized the F1 in Schools Hong Kong Finals 2023. A total of 60 secondary school students in Hong Kong participated in the competition this year, showcasing their STEM talents and brilliance. The top 3 winning teams: 🏆 (Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School), 🥈 (Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School), and 🥉 (Shatin Pui Ying College), will represent Hong Kong and compete at the F1 in Schools World Finals 2024. Congratulations to all! 🙌

We would like to thank all the students who participated in this competition. We find your perseverance and innovative mindsets truly inspiring! 🏎️💨 Since the F1 in Schools 2023 training course kick-started in March this year, we have already received a number of enquiries from schools. The Hong Kong Productivity Council has decided to organize two Development Class courses during this summer, so that more students can participate and learn about miniature car design, production and racing, while improving their marketing and presentation skills through this engaging international STEM initiative. 🛠️

Once the course is completed, students will be qualified to participate in the F1 in Schools Hong Kong 2023 Preliminary Competition to experience the speed and fun of the exciting F1 in Schools races in person. The winning teams will have the opportunity to become the Hong Kong representatives to participate in the F1 in Schools 2024 International Competition! 🏁

👏 All secondary school students in Hong Kong are welcome to participate! (6 students per team)

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

The F1 in Schools World Finals 2023 will begin a new era of car design with technical regulations changes introduced to reflect advances in the design of Formula 1 cars. These include a halo device, wider wheels and multi-plane front and rear wings as we see on today’s F1 cars. Teams will also be given the optional challenge of designing the nose cone assembly as a detachable part that can be changed in under 60 seconds.

The F1 in Schools World Final, the pinnacle event of the leading global STEM initiative, takes place from 8th–14th September 2023, alongside the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2023.

F1 in Schools 2023世界賽即將開啟一個全新的賽車設計時代。就如正規F1賽車規格般，世界賽的技術規則增添了數項變化，反映了現代F1賽車設計的進步。例子包括：設置座艙防護裝置(Halo device)、更寬的輪軚和多平面頭翼及尾翼。參賽隊更可以選擇將鼻錐組件設計成可拆卸的部件，並挑戰使其可在60秒內進行替換。

The technical regulations of the F1 in Schools 2023 World Finals have been announced on February 13. Our teams who are qualified for the upcoming World Finals have started preparing for the competition. In our recent session, teams were briefed on the new regulations, branding guidelines, and how to develop sponsorship liveries appropriately. In the coming weeks, they will go through another series of coaching to get ready for the ultimate challenge.

To our finalists, you are in the big league now. It is time to give everything you have got and race towards the finish line! 💪🏼

有關2023 F1 in School世界賽的技術章程與規則已於2月13日公佈。所有獲得參賽資格的比賽隊伍已經開始如火如荼地備戰。在最近的訓練中，香港隊隊員對於有關新指引、品牌設計及如何設計車身拉花吸引贊助商等方面已經有初步認識。在未來數週，他們將會繼續參與一系列的訓練以便為挑戰世界級的賽事做好準備！

期待所有比賽隊伍與隊員在比賽中全力以赴，將自己所學淋漓盡致地發揮，不枉此行！💪🏻

𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 🏁

The F1 in Schools™ Hong Kong Finals (Professional Class) is set to be held on December 17, 2022. Our participants have made improvements to their cars' designs to ensure better performance, and they will have to meet the official regulatory requirements in order to qualify for the race.

Participants were also briefed on a series of missions which they have to complete before the racing day, such as developing their design + engineering + enterprise portfolios, building their own pit displays, and submitting their finalized cars for specification scrutineering.

We will be able to witness their new cars for the Hong Kong finals soon. Stay tuned!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻! 🏁

The F1 in Schools™ Hong Kong Regional Competition has finally begun. The first day of the Development Class (preliminary rounds) competition was held on November 13, 2022.

The competition consists of 6 judging criteria - 1) Specification and scrutineering; 2) Design and engineering; 3) Brand identity; 4) Project management; 5) Verbal presentation; 6) Racing. The top 10 teams will enter the next round of the competition - Professional Class.

All participants brought along their racing spirits and tried their very best to achieve the best reaction times, in order to get their cars through the finish line before their rivals. Furthermore, they showcased their design concepts, engineering talents and branding strategies through their pit displays and verbal presentations before the judges.

The next racing day of the Development Class competition will be held on November 20, 2022. Drivers, are you ready? Get set. GO! 🏎️💨

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲

The F1 in Schools™ Hong Kong participants have submitted their project portfolios and race cars for scrutineering. We will make sure all the cars have met the technical regulations before the race.

The first race (Development Class) in Hong Kong will be held on November 13, followed by the second race on November 20.

No matter who the winner is going to be, we are proud of our participants for achieving so much within such a short period of time. See you at the race. Best of luck!
