Day 1 of the Action Asia Specialized XC Mountain Bike Festival was a good return to competition for 2XU Adventure. After a very fast start Alistair was able to finish in an excellent 3rd overall and 1st in age group with Simon managing to salvage a 3rd in age group after a puncture early in the first lap. Both relaxing now in our 2XU compression and getting ready for day2 tomorrow, will keep you posted!

The Action Asia Otterbox Challenge - in South Lantau

1200 Participants, 600 Teams, 761km's and 15000m of climbing.......

Bonaqua Action Asia sprint in Repulse Bay ...... Even with a detour because we where marshalled the wrong way ..... It was another great event , finished 1st in the 35-39 age group with a great sprint finsh with Kurt Lynn from the Gatorade Smucknuckels , the 2XU Calf Guards worked extemely well on all the climbing with the added help of protecting your legs from the undergrowth

This was the Queen stage , the second last one , but one we always knew was going to be hard, as even though it was only 99km it had the most climbing out of all the days , 3000m in total. This with 11000 m of climbing on our legs already. Well it was hard as predicted but it seems we found it easier than most ( it did not feel like that out on the trails ) , as this was our best day finish , top 120 , we are really happy with our result. So tomorrow a quick 54km ride down to the finish , 1550 m of climbing and we will be finished the EPIC ............. Lets Ride ..............

ABSA Cape Epic - Stage 5 (Day 6)

75 km and 1800 m of climbing , so when it comes to EPIC an easy day, but with 2 technical issues a broken gear cable on Si's bike and a broken chain on Al's, we lost around 6 min , but great team work in the repair department meant it could of been worse ........ But the riding was great today with 22 km of single track , just a bit unfortunate that our legs did not appreciate it too much see they have 10 000m of climbing in them ..... Tomorrow is going to be a hard day only 100kms but 3000 m of climbing ..... Lets ride

Supposedly a recovery day ...... 94km and 1950m of climbing will never be a recovery ... Another EPIC day complete and only 4 more days to go , 120km tomorrow from Tulbag to Wellington ...... Lets ride..... But first lets recover with 2XU

ABSA Cape Epic - Day 3 (Stage 2)

This was the longest and farthest we have ever ridden , 146km of mountain biking in 7hr 31min with 2400m of vertical climbing ....... If yesterday was tuff today was even harder, but at least be left the beach behind us for most of it ........ 2 down 5 days to go ..... Off to bed in our 2XU recovery tights , without them each day would be a lot harder

The only word I can use to describe today is "SAND", this is the hardest day on a MTB, we walked over 5km today up sandy mountain climbs , but again this is " Africa's untamed mountain bike race" . Relaxing and getting ready for 145km of riding tomorrow, hopefully we leave the beach behind us .....

Prologue finished ........ This is CAPE EPIC and it did not disappoint us , even though it was only 23km it was hard and with a technical problem with a tire we finished in 1hr 27 min , can't wait to get on the bike again for Stage 1 , 100km and guaranteed lots of climbing , cross fingers that today was the last of our technical issues

Race Registration Complete - Team 537 is now packing and preparing our stuff for the ABSA Cape Epic , 8 days , 1200 riders , 806 km's and 15000m of climbing to look forward to....... Lets Ride

7 days to go to the start of our EPIC adventure , Team 2XU Hong Kong (Team 537) , have our prologue start time 07:55:25 the 160 team off the line for 23kms of awesome riding, but before that tomorrow we will be supporting Dayle (Al's wife) in her quest of finishing the Cape Argus Cycle tour in Cape Town (109km) her first cycle race in support of a great cause "Love for Luke" ....... lets ride for Cancer

Dayle my wife will be riding the Cape Argus cycle Tour tomorrow (with me as the 2XU support) ... 109km's around Cape Town, but more than the feat of riding her first bike race is that she is doing it for a special cause .... "Love for Luke" . This is for "BRAVE Luke " who way diagnosed with Leukemia on the 28th of Jan and we hope that everyone can help support Dayle in her quest to raise some money for this awesome cause ..... please follow the link below or go to Dayle Haigh-Smith page to pledge to this wonderful cause

Otterbox Action Asia Challenge on South Lantau this morning, another great adventure race and a awesome result 2nd Overall in 3hrs 50min and 1st in the 70+ age group ....... great stuff

Otter Box Action Asia challenge tomorrow, briefing finished, gear prepped, it looks like its going to be a good race with many disciplines!!

Absa Cape Epic , the most televised stage race in the world starts in 43 days and 2XU Adventure will be there , 850 Kim's over 8 stages on some of the most grueling terrain South Africa has to offer .......... We will keep you posted

MSIG Lantau 50 - even though the weather did no play the part, it was a great race

Just finished 28km trail run part of the MSIG 50 series in Lantau, what an awesome trail 28km and 1800m or climbing in some of the most amazing trails in HK

Riding in the colours of TeamDirectAsia.com , we had an awesome race at the AA MTB festival, which was held over 2 days at Chi Ma Wan and Tai Lam.... We had great results with Simon taking overall honors in the 1 loop CAT and Alistair 2nd overall in the 2 loop CAT. Being at 2 day event our 2XU compressions gave us the edge on day 2

Sheraton Krabi Adventure Race was awesome, another great event and a great result , 3rd overall and 1st in Master catergory...... Not bad for a last minute race , and to add the cherry on the cake we won the feel free kayak challenge

Finish of the Wet Fedgroup Berg & Bush 3 day Descent , another amazing stage race in some very muddy condition .........

Just got back from another awesome MTB stage race in South Africa , the very wet Fedsure Berg & Bush 3 day descent ......... The weather was wet wet wet, which brought mud and more mud and ...... Well I hope you get the picture . Richard and I had a awesome time and did very well conditions permitting and as usual even in the adverse condition our 2XU gear performed brilliantly during and after the stages .,,,,
