Merry Christmas SLabbers.
That’s a wrap for 2023 swim sessions. It might have been 7C this morning but we brought the cheer! Wishing a fabulous holiday to all 🧑🏻‍🎄 🏊🏻‍♀️ 🎄 🏊🏼‍♂️ 🍷

Great effort by the SLabbers on the 4th annual 100x100m Challenge. 30 squad members, 30 duckie awards presented, some maiden 100s and milestones all around. Topped off with a well deserved team brunch at High Street Grill.

Hey Slabbers! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ Coach AM is coming back in HK to take part in "Make Waves for Hong Kong" on Nov 4th. As many of you know, Swim Lab was co-founded by her. AM also played an instrumental role as the original Program Director of Splash, creating their trailblazing Adult Beginner Program.
While many of you might already be familiar with Splash or even volunteer there, this is a chance to bridge the past with the present and support AM. Let's rally behind her and her Team Purple. All 6 teams taking part are aiming to raise HK$2.5M for Splash Foundation. This initiative battles the surprising fact that so many in HK can't swim, despite our abundant coastlines and pools. And yes, she’ll be on deck coaching whilst I am away next week!
Remember, every stroke counts, every dollar matters! 🌊 Your support will help thousands more embrace the water, just as we do at Swim Lab.

She did it again! Another fantastic swim to complete the triple crown of OW swimming. The English Channel and round Manhattan last summer, and now the Catalina Channel cross to complete it 🏊🏻‍♀️👑👑👑 with a dolphin 🐬 es**rt too.
Edie is the first person from HK to achieve the triple.
Many congrats Edie, with all your hard work, a well deserved achievement!

The English Channel, Manhattan Island and Catalina crossing make up the Triple Crown of Marathon Swimming. Here’s a little more about the swims to give a little more perspective as to what Li Ling is swimming today and Edie in 10 days time.

Swimming the Triple Crown is a feat like no other Only 292 swimmers have achieved the honor of the Triple Crown: crossing the English and Catalina Channel, and circumnavigating Manhattan Island in New York.

Best of luck to both Li Ling Yung-Hryniewiecki and Edie Hu as the challenge the round Manhattan Island and Catalina crossing respectively.
Lovely to accompany Edie in her final taper swim this morning before she flies off to California tonight in preparation for her swim on the 10th. Li Ling is up first, this weekend.
