There is a reason for people that come in our lives - whether they are here to bring us joy, values, experience, or they come to give us a lesson & push us to better understand ourselves through pain & saddness, either way, be grateful for their existence and always take the moments & learnings with you.

We live in an abundant world today - things are fast, accessible & almost effortless, whereas we do not feel complete and content all the time.
Somehow it is easy for us to notice when there is something missing or when it isn’t good enough; whilst we are often obscured of what is already there.
Appreciate what you have, be grateful for another day. Not everybody made it, so don’t take it for granted.

In life things go up & down, sometimes it works out exactly the way we planned, sometimes better than expected, but it could also turn out worse than we think.
We feel a lot of emotions with different people & circumstances, whether it’s good or bad, happy or sad, calm or anxious. Most of the times it’s out of our control of how we feel; But the good news is, we have control of how we react.
When there is a situation that causes your peace & affects you negatively, take deep breaths, drop it for the moment & detach yourself from it. When the emotions slowly fade away, you will see things differently and respond more rationally.
Be the master of your emotions, or your emotions will master you.

Men & women have different body forms - men are better at strength while women are better at flexibility. Like a lot of other girls, upper body strength was a big struggle to me.
Koundinyasana I requires muscle engagement from the arms & shoulders, twisting & hamstring flexibility with body coordination & balance.
So it’s a pose that requires strength & flexibility which is found from practice, body coordination & balance built from practice with the peaceful state of mind.

Yoga is merely yoga if one is not at peace, inner peace of our mind & soul, peace from within.
We are constantly immersed in our everyday duties, playing different roles, juggling between responsibilities, endlessly hustling & timelessly bustling. So where is the time for US?
Be mindful to yourself, your body, your mind - It’s always easier said than done. Let’s begin with taking a couple of breaths & slowly wind down; forget about anything before you, around you, after you. When you start to disengage from the outside world, you begin to engage with your inner self, and that is when you start to touch the edge of inner peace.

Most people mistake yoga is only about flexibility, in fact it is more than that. On the physical level, it’s a combination & coordination of strength, flexibility & balance.
In this Forearm Wheel, there is the core strength from the arms, flexibility from the chest, shoulders, upper & lower back, and also a sense of balance of standing on one side of the toes.
Like life, it is a combination of different aspects together - work, friendships, family & relationship etc. After all, it is about how you keep a good balance for each and live the best at it

I started doing yoga about 8 years ago. It was nothing more than just stretching to me, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought even with my ballet background. Patience & perseverance have always been my shortcomings. For the very same reason, I decided to go further with it.
-
It has begun “taking its toll” on me without me noticing. 8 years after today, the difference was more than just at the physical level but also the mentality. And I would like to share with you all my journey in the coming days. 🧸🤎
