Ooooh! This is a good one to share! I never had Lego’s growing up because they were so expensive and we were so poor. I really like that now, more disadvantaged children will have opportunities to play with legos! ♥️
I help parents of young children (0-6 years) by teaching them how to read, interpret and respond app
This is a window into my world...a world where I am constantly learning, creating and finding new ways to understand and work with young children. As I share my insights, my findings from research and my ever growing experience working with children, I hope that I can also inspire and educate others who also enjoy bringing out the best in children!

It’s really hard to learn to love and accept our bodies just as they are ……and the more we learn to do that, the more our children will learn to do the same from us ♥️
"I lay down at the beach and look down at my body. I see the changes. I see stretch marks on my stomach, I see wrinkles at my breasts. Sometimes the changes can be hard to look at, some days even I feel bad
But then... I looked PAST my body. Do you see the boy running there? That's Liam. The boy I made, the baby that was in MY stomach. The baby that my breast’s magical produced milk for so he could survive on just me.
How amazing is that? Sometimes you have to look at the BIGGER PICTURE, just like in this one. So you can remind your mindset to tell you how incredibly amazing you are, and how proud you should be of it.
We all did an amazing job, marks or not."

Who else agrees with this?!? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️…..even if our school systems are set up to do the complete opposite?

Keep this handy because we all need this reminder. It’s so hard to not feel triggered when children express themselves, especially if we feel insecure about expressing our own feelings as children 😢
“One of the biggest gifts we can give anyone is the gift of being heard.” -William Ury
By showing children we are listening, we send them the message: “I am here for you and you are important.” ❤️
Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.

This!
I’ve been teaching preschool for over a decade and I’ve always told the trainee teachers in my lectures and parents in my workshops that children will not misbehave if we knew how to meet their physical, emotional, intellectual, social and language needs. It’s only that we fail or do it inappropriately that they will try to tell us that something is not right.

Oooof! This is a GOOD one!
Most of us feel so much pressure advocating for our children’s needs to feel safe and accepted when we are being watched by family and friends (or in public). Especially being Asian, the pull to conform to standard parenting strategies (that often don’t serve our children) is so real. 😢

I can’t imagine how dull our lives would be without little children! This one made me 🥰🥰🥰

We need to be very careful with wanting our children to be ‘happy’ because I’ve seen adults who get into all sorts of trouble (with health, finances, relationships etc) because they were conditioned to do whatever it takes to be ‘happy’ (at the expense of everything else) 😢
THIS IS GENIUS!!!!! 1 million points for creativity 🥰
