Ving Tsun is a concept-based Chinese martial art which is firm but flexible with softness via relaxation, rooted but yielding to either deflect external forces or rediret them. Ving Tsun is a form of self-defense utilizing both striking and grappling while specializing in close range combat with the principle of simultaneous attack and defense. Ving Tsun trains the awareness of one's own body movement derived from muscles, body core, tendons, and articular joints. All attacks and counter-attacks are initiated from this firm, stable base. When the practitioner is effectively "rooted", or aligned so as to be braced against the ground, the force of the attack is believed to be far more devastating. This concept becomes my destination of achievement. It is my honor to be the disciple of Grandmaster Ip Ching, the second son of the last Grandmaster Ip Man, in 90’s. By the strenuous effort and selflessness of Grandmaster Ip Ching, not only my notion but also the know-how skill in Ving Tsun is flourished. In addition to my arduous practice and study, my knowledge in Ving Tsun is further strengthened. With encouragement and inspiration from Grandmaster Ip Ching, I took up the post of Honorable Trainer in Ving Tsun Ip Ching Athletic Association organized by the Auxiliary Medical Service since 2005. It is the cornerstone for me to develope myself to pass on the concept of Ving Tsun to the youngsters. With the appreciation from Grandmaster Ip Ching, I am glad to participate in the programme, “Kung Fu Quest” filmed by RTHK in 2009 in which I was one of the actors as well as the advisors. More than that, in the Grandmaster Ip Ching’s classes, I am arranged to be the translator for the foreign participants. In the light of these opportunities, there is sound improvement and advancement in both my knowledge and skill towards Ving Tsun. Because of my untiring engagement and enthusiasm in Ving Tsun, I was appointed to be the Director of Ving Tsun Athletic Association since 2010, and also at Ving Tsun Ip Ching Athletic Association.
