Today's event was on the blink of cancellation. But radar image from Hong Kong Observatory this morning showed the risk of rainstorm is minimal so I decided to go on as scheduled. Luckily, the sun came out just when we were about to start. Shortly after we had lunch together and disbanded, thunderstorm warning was hoisted again. So we were very lucky this time.

Started after the first wave of rainstorm, and ended before the second wave arrived.

Started with rain and fog. Finished under immense sunlight. Severed from minor heat exhaustion after reaching Needle Hill. Had to descend very slowly and took a long rest for cooling down before leaving.

My running distance this month is very low (under 100km) so really need to make some sweat during this long weekend. Ends up at the HK island side where various supplies (supermarkets and water dispensers are along the trail) are available to stay hydrated in hot weather.

A hike linking early Hong Kong infrastructure: boundary stones surrounding Kowloon reservoir (shortly after 1902), ex Shum Shui Po Service Reservoir (built 1904), Kowloon Reservoir (built 1910).

Business trip to the Lion City last week. Had a morning run before going to office.

How to scout several locations in one time? Link up all of them to become a trailrun route. The rain in the past few days makes some sections rather difficult. At least two sections of my trail will be ruled out in future EOHK events.

The war around the Persian Gulf has given my cousin, who settled in the U.S. decades ago, an accidental opportunity to have a stopover at her hometown en route a business trip to India. Spent a day with her together with other relatives for a quick trip to Macao.

News said Sai Kung is packed with tourists from mainland China during this long weekend. Fortunately, today's EOHK event has been planned a month ago at two islands isolated from these tourists. It needs teamwork to manage a total of 23 hikers so we have three leaders for this event: Annie Tang for chartering the boat, Annie Lau for the delicious lunch, and myself for the hiking route.

TGIF! Finally managed some spare time for a slow run after an eventful week.

For those who have signed up tomorrow's hike in Kau Sai Chau, see you!
