Itās been eight years since I lost my dad. They say time heals everything, and while I think thatās true, some days feel even harder than when it happened.
Iām posting old pictures today because thatās how I want to remember my dad. In our last photo together, he was so skinny, sick, and sad.
If I had the chance to talk to him and update him on my life, Iād be excited to tell him Iām living out my dreams every day. Iām working toward and achieving goals that people not only told me were impossible but also laughed at me for even dreaming up. Iād tell him Iām a working actor, Iāve launched a successful podcast, Iāve become the top headshot photographer in Dallas, I own a ranch with 70 animals, and I compete in barrel racing.
Iād tell him I have a partner who loves me unconditionally, a mom who supports me even when my ideas seem crazy, and an amazing group of friends. Iāve been able to experience things most people will never do, and Iāve traveled the world in the most extraordinary way with my best friends. Iād tell him I make people laugh, and most importantly, Iād tell him Iām happy.
I love you, Dad. I miss you. I wish we had more time together. šļø
