First Spanish Mackerel!
Haha if you’ve followed along for a while you’d know I’ve chased these fish endlessly. Being from Sydney we only get a few opportunities where these may be around. A lot has to come together to even see them, even with that a few opportunities have been kooked, I’ll call them learning experiences.
After much input, and 5+ years later, here we are.
Along with the 4th of the NSW Big Five on my foot haha.

I’ve always wondered how a big fish would go on a line. Thanks Roly for helping me find out, and of course spoon feeding me. What a magic area, very unique rainforest islands.

couple days work 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

I always think about how much harder it would have been to live and survive thousands of years ago, but this freshwater river told another story. I can’t think of the word for how it felt but it was super refreshing and cleansing, I’ll go with: natures day spa.
And Port Douglas, I don’t remember it being so upmarket when I did a liveaboard out of there in 2015. Will now remember it as - a big resort surrounded by coral reef and rainforest.
