I wrote a song regarding how I feel about all the hatred that I see being spread on social media.

No one is perfect. When we only see the negative in others it destroys us as much as it harms those we hate.

There are great people everywhere—good women and good men, good people in every country.

If you can’t see them, perhaps your house is broken.

My second song went live today. I wrote it for my youngest daughter who I miss everyday she isn’t with me.

I’m releasing this song on Saturday April, 12th.

I wrote 10 songs after my daughter inspired me to write an album. This song is the first of 10. I’ll release one/month for the next year.

My songs deal with loss and the struggles I had leading up to and after my divorce. I hope you like them and follow me for more.

My dad died peacefully today.

He has been trapped in a body that no longer let him run, explore, read, or do much of anything he loved to do but sing.

He was the most curious adventurer I’ve ever known.

He sang often during his last year. He was called by many “the singing dentist”. He would break out in song, singing along with the radio as he worked on his patients. I found it embarrassing but I’ve learned to love the way my dad lived.

He chased what he believed with all his heart. He felt no shame or reservations over sharing what he loved most. And in the end he spoke much about forgiveness and showed me a path I could follow.

I will miss him. I love him. And I will carry him in my heart.

We manifest what we are.

I spoke to a woman once who said she wanted peace. I asked her what was stopping her. She said, “my anger and contempt for my husband consume all my thoughts.”

I told her she needed to find her way to forgiveness. She had to let go of her hatred. She laughed and said, “I’d rather feel the anger, than forgive him.”

This poem by Stephen Crane came to mind and I thought…

How easy it was to spot the barrier to peace and the need of her broken heart.

We may long for something but we will never manifest, pray, or create it into existence until we align our whole being to our desire.

I hiked off trail today, exploring the shoreline, I bushwhacked through shrubs, grass, and scrambling the occasional cliff.

I decided scale the cliffs and leave once I had my fill of exploring but 1/2 way up I realized my skills weren’t up to the task.

I never would have turned back when I was younger but I’ve found that my body can no longer cash the checks my mind is writing. I chose wisdom over valor and found an easier climb.

It was intense and I was covered in scratched from the rocks and branches.

It was perfect.
