More commonly known as , Bound Angle, this pose activates the (Root) Chakra, the seat of and self-worth. When it is blocked, , , and take over the throne. When this chakra is balanced, one feels stable and strong.

Located at the base of the spine, between the a**s and vital part, the chakra is where a foetus started growing into baby.

It represents the Earth element, where it must root down to be grounded, like a sturdy tree withstanding the cyclone of Life. One ought to harness relentless courage from the root of her being, in order to weather the storms of Life! 🌳🌀🌪️

Fear of the future, fear of relationships, as a result of holding onto the past emotional and physical traumas, are stored as blocked negative energy in the root and sacral chakras.

Every baby comes into this world with a cry, and could only be pacified by its Mother's loving embrace, its very first encounter (outside the safe and secure womb) with , the very foundation of life. 🤱🏻💞

TIPS:
Learn to sit with discomfort if you have stiff groin or hips. Move gently into the pose with the intention of love (rather than force), upon every exhale, deeper into the pose. Move inner knees away from the middle line, away from each other; simultaneously, both outer feet, with their soles facing up, meet along the middle line, pressing into each other.

An embryo symbolizes the Origin of Creation, through Love conceived in divine splendour, by the Union of Sacred Masculine and Divine Feminine, birthing the Universe that we inhabit today.

In this pose, the clockwise rotation of rolling back & forth signifies the nine months of foetal development in a Mother's womb, followed by the arrival of a baby in the form of male chick, (A male due to the age-old obsession with male offspring in Indian culture).

Each day I transitioned into this pose, I am reminded of my Mom's labor pain and love. For a long time now, I have also been wondering about the Mother of Soul, the source of Divine Love that births our Spirit. In Vaishnava tradition, Radha represents Divine Love, and Krishna pure consciousness of the Soul.

So this pose is truly dedicated both to my Mom and to the symbol of Divine Love, Radha. Jai Sri Radhe Shyam! 🌟

You know, love could start from something as simple as what you serve in your dinner plate 🍽️: something that is grown out of pure love like the plants and fruits 🥬🍉 nourished by soil and water of Mother Earth, and synthesized by the light of the Sun; not something raised in fear and suffering, like the livestock 🐖🐄🐔🐟 forcefully imprisoned in factory farms only to finally be led to senseless slaughter.

Love could also found be in what you do, a great cause you serve for a greater good. Finally, as most of you would agree, love breathes in your every heartbeat 💗 whether or not you are next to the person you're truly in love with.
