Join us on the 22nd of November for a few laps of hush in honour of the man that started the club and had a hand in many of the hush classics.
We’ve been hard at work fixing up and linking some of Phil’s original handywork for a bit of fox hunt style mass start mayhem on the day so if you’re up for a bit of madness then come along, it’s just a bit of craic, nothing to serious and it would be great to see a good gang out for the day so save the date and see we’ll hopefully see you all on the 22nd.
For anyone that doesn’t ride we will also be doing a walk from the car park up to the memorial rock at the top of the hill aswel
Spin and walk starting at 10
Mini avalanche starting at 12
We’ll have Tea/coffee and snacks on the hill
Cheers,
Hush MTB team

Calling all female MTBers. Ever wanted to try out racing or practice your race craft without the pressure of a real race? Hush MTB are hosting a FREE timed practice event on the 26th of January. Two timed stages, which can be run in any order as many times as you like between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- This introductory event is FREE to all female Cycling Ireland Membership holders.
Why is it free? Hush MTB wants to see more female racers at events and more female members in our club. We hope that after attending this introductory event you might like to join the club. Members will benefit from free access to many more timed practice events like these in 2025 - we hosted 7 such events last year. Note: If you’re a member of another club that’s no problem you can join more than one club.
For more details or to secure your spot (limited to 30 entries) send us a message.

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since the passing of club founder Phil. We will be having a memorial spin at Hush on Saturday the 9th of November. As Phil did the majority of his digging very early we'll be meeting at 7am with the aim to be at the top for sunrise. We'll be circling past the carpark around 9 for anyone joining later.
This spin will be open to anyone who would like to pay their respects and ride some of the amazing trails that Phil created. There will also be a walking loop for anyone wanting to join on the day.
Hopefully see plenty of you there.

Going forward we will be opening membership for people 16 and over. This will be done through Cycling Ireland and by selecting Hush MTB as the club. For attending events people 16-18 will require a parent or guardian to be present for the duration of the event.
If you're already a member of another club but want to join Hush as well just send us an email at [email protected] with your CI license details and pay the club fee directly via PayPal (€35 or €10 for members 16-18 as we are already over halfway through the year).
We still have plenty of events planned for the rest of the year including our summer series so make sure you have your membership sorted if you'd like to participate!

Now that the dust (literally) has settled we'd like to say a huge thankyou to Top Part Motor Factors , Rocheur Confectionery Arklow and Decathlon Ireland for helping out the club with all the bits to make the race possible. Great to have Feel Good Bicycles there on the day keeping everyone's bikes running smoothly, Badass Bbq and Cornershop for the amazing burgers and coffee on the day and Order of Malta Ireland for the excellent medical cover on the day, it wouldn't be possible without all of you!
Also the club sponsors Homeward Bound Gorey Ireland , RH Suspension and A-line Tech for their continuing support, we have plenty more in store for the year!
A massive thanks to everyone who gave their time to marshal, prepare trails and organise and clean up after the race. The race wouldn't have been nearly as good without everyone's support and it's hugely appreciated from us.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed the dry conditions and we can't wait to see what's in store for the next rounds of the Grassroots Enduro Series

Last weekend the club was very busy on the hill with back to back dig days! There have been lots of small alterations made on the hill, but one of the major projects from last weekend was the addition of another pedal up trail. This one goes from the bottom of Big Johnny (from the bottom of "the doors") to the lower fire road! 🤘
Big shout out and thanks to
Who led the charge all weekend! Great to have such amazing trail building experience in the club, and even better having him so hands on with our dig days!
Our awesome club sponsor is working on some signs for the pedal up but for the moment we have crudely marked the entrance with some logs 😂
Massive thanks to everyone who helped out last weekend to work on the pedal up and all the other trails that got some TLC over the weekend 🤘

As many of you will know the club had some very sad news at the end of 2023. On the 12th of November Philip Kerr, our club founder, passed away after a short illness. We did not publicise his passing on the club discord or social media pages as we wanted to respect the families private space and give them space to grieve, Phil was a very private person and we did not feel it was appropriate to be making public statements about his passing at the time.
Without Phil we would not have a club or trails in the Hush, he built the first trails many years ago, back when the hill really did live up to its name as “The Hush”. The calibre of what he built meant it did not stay secret for very long. He was also the person responsible for building a relationship with Coillte, this
relationship is the reason we have permitted trails on the hill, and this is solely down to Phil and the friendship he had built with the forestry manager and all Coillte representative he interacted with. Phil set up the club initially, consisting of a small group of friends, many of whom are still in the club and in fact still on the committee. This group paved the way for us to grow into the amazing club we have today, a club filled with individuals who share the same passion for the Hush as Phil. He should be very proud of what he has done for us all, leaving behind a club which simply wouldn’t have existed without his efforts, and being instrumental in creating one of the best mountain biking locations in Ireland!
Rest In Piece Phil, your memory will live on through everyone who has the pleasure of riding a bike in The Hush!
The club are organising a memorial spin on the 9th of March. Please join us on the day to pay our respects to the man who has created an amazing playground for us mountainbikers!
We will meet in the top car park at 10 am on the 9th, for a social spin riding some of the trails that Phil created for us all to enjoy! This spin is open to non-members and all skills levels.
