ππ THE DDSL DOUBLE ππ
Our U16.1 team concluded their season today at home against in form Glebe North, knowing we had won the league during the week with games going our way , our management had the job to get the lads concentrating and finish the season strong with the huge crowd in attendance to see us win the League.
We started well passing the ball around and Glebe North didn't come just to make up the numbers. Ten minutes in and a sweeping move sent our lethal striker Ollie Conroyβ½οΈ in to finish 1-0.
Five minutes later a freekick at the edge of the box , up stepped center back Nathan Donohoeβ½οΈ to fire a bullet into the far corner 2-0 ( what is rare is wonderful ). Our boys eased off now and started to become a little complacent, this allowed Glebe North to break and score against the run of play 2-1.
Our management gave a few strong words and the boys got back to business, forward we went again and the ball bounced around the box and up popped Cody Morris β½οΈ to fire a sweet left foot strike to the top corner 3-1.
Halftime.
Second half and again we went at Glebe North, but great defending kept the scoring at bay, we were making substitutions and giving everyone plenty of gametime to enjoy the occasion, but Glebe North had other ideas and their excellent striker won possession, turned inside and scored a great goal 3-2. Glebe were now throwing everything at us and we were dangerous on the break , the clock ticking down to Full-time and we won 3-2.
The class of Glebe North at Full-time was brilliant,
Standing and applauding our Champions.
