The extremely popular Ratoath AC Couch to 5K is back for 2026!

We are delighted to say we have our coaches gathered and ready to go for this years couch to 5K starting on May 18th for 6 weeks and for only €50 !

Have you been thinking about getting fitter, but not quite sure where to start? this is for you, Our Couch to 5K is all about starting where you are. No fitness required, no experience needed just show up and we’ll take care of the rest.
Over 6 weeks, we will gently build you up from walking/jogging to running a 5K.
You will be part of a group of people in the exact same boat, same nerves, same goal. Training with a group is the best motivation on those though days when you don’t want to leave the house to go for a run, the group will carry you through. There’s something special about training together the chats, the encouragement. It’s not just about the running.
You will train twice a week with experienced Ratoath Athletic Club coaches who know exactly how to help you feel comfortable and keep progressing without overdoing it!.
And don’t worry this isn’t about racing or being the fastest. The only goal is your goal.

Off to a great start Lisa O’Neill 🥇and Paula Quilty 🥉awarded their medals for great performances in the recent Meath10k champs in Dunboyne .
Aaron Lynch ran the Moynalty 4K and Coventry half marathon .
John Gallagher completed the Garlforce Bray 10k
Sheila Gaughan in Barcelona with her daughter in her debut half marathon
Colin Murtagh , Boston and London marathons in the same week 😵‍💫
And a group of runners in the Ashbourne 5/10k - Brian Halpin , Edel Nolan , Aaron Lynch , Audrey O’Neil , Gavin Doran and another huge congratulations to Lisa O’Neill who bookended the month with another great run finishing on the podium in Ashbourne.
Superstars one and all 👏….. what will we do in May I wonder 🤔

A fantastic day at the Dunboyne 10K today.

The race began with a chilly start and a light, hazy drizzle over the opening kilometre, before clearing into ideal running conditions for the remainder of the course. It set the tone for what turned out to be an excellent event from start to finish.

There was an incredible turnout from Ratoath Athletics Club, with athletes representing the club in great numbers and delivering outstanding performances across all levels. It was especially rewarding to see so many personal bests achieved on the day which is a testament to the hard work and dedication put in over the past number of weeks in training.

The race concluded with a brilliant finish on the track at Dunboyne AC, providing a fitting end to a well organised and enjoyable event. The post-race refreshments of tea, coffee, and sandwiches were very much appreciated and added to the welcoming atmosphere.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and successful day of racing, and a great experience shared with teammates and fellow competitors alike
