Our season is over before it began.Well done for surviving the year without college Rugby.We fully intend to be back next Sept ,stronger and better.We would have had some great teams this year and it’s so unfortunate for those leaving but you’ve all contributed to Ait Rugby in the past. So good luck in your exams and wherever you go spread the word.

Ait Rugby Screening this year is on Friday 3rd of January 2020 from 12 till 2pm.

Including
*Rugby drills and games on Ait Astro.
*Short tour of Ait facilities including high performance gym
cryotherapy pods and indoor running arena.
*Scholarship criteria .
*Access of up to 50 additional points for elite athletes.
*A meal in Ait canteen.
*Ait staff will be on hand to discuss course options.

Another wet Wednesday the third in a row and with games being cancelled all over Ait were glad to able to travel to Mullingar to play the dcu a and b teams in heavy rain and cold non stop ,for both games.
It was a day for the tough to get going and in fairness Ait didn’t hold back though once again dogged by injuries before the games.The dcu 1st team was physically big and strong but the Ait teams were more tenacious all round but particularly in defence.The defining moment came when Aaron Martin charged down a kick and collected the ball for the 7 pointer.
Ait played with great spirit in the b game and were unlucky on several occasions not to score when over the line.Each member of the squad deserves full credit for their performance on the day.
Won one lost one was not the ideal set of results but the management and all who looked on can have no doubt about the commitment the players showed.

Ait played their third league game in Mullingar rfc on their superb 4g Astro this week against a Garda squad who are having a mixed season.Playing with a freedom that wasn’t evident against Carlow in the last round.Some excellent kicking by out half Andy Evans and full back Sean Flynn kept the bigger/ older Garda team on the back foot as the rain poured down on both teams.Buccs scored 5 tries with some excellent passing and offloading but succumbed to a sucker punch as the Garda took a couple of quick penalties to score a 7 pointer.
A deteriorating scrum in the 2nd half meant that Ait couldn’t establish a platform and as tempers rose the referee did well to control the enthusiastic players.It was superb linespeed and defense that really was the hallmark of this Ait effort with Kevin Gavin Sam Krouppa and Harry o Reilly leading the way.Captain Alex PorterBradley Nealon and Harry Ballsiger showing great attacking thrust in the three quarters.Ait emptied the bench with 20 mins left but that didn’t alter the score of 34-7.
