U11C Division 10
Ballincollig 2-1 Midleton

Ballincollig U11s started their first competitive match strongly and controlled most of the first half, all thanks to the back line of Milo Pozza, Killian O’Donovan and Tiernan O’Riordan, they played fantastic football and limited Midleton to a very few chances.

In midfield, Oisin Fitzgerald, Arlo McKeon and Darra O’Callaghan were excellent. When they weren’t driving forward they were tracking back and put in some great tackles 👏

Jim Denaxas put Ballincollig ahead in the first half with a fantastic strike following some excellent link up play with midfielder Alex Donnellan.

Four changes were made at half time, Tomas Cahill and Zac Burke came on at Full Back and made some vital tackles and clearances. Luke Shepard slotted in left midfield and controlled that side of the pitch during the second half.

Fionn Crowley came on up front and led the line brilliantly as a lone striker. Killian O’Donovan moved into midfield and got a crucial second goal for Ballincollig.

Mark Dineen made some outstanding saves, especially towards the end of the game when Midleton put Ballincollig under serious pressure.

Overall it was a fantastic performance from the whole squad. Great effort, great teamwork with a well deserved 2-1 victory ⚽️🇳🇬

U12 Division 1
Ballincollig 2-1 Carrigaline Utd A

Ballincollig AFC U12s held their first competitive game today,a really impressive performance against a very strong Carrigaline team which ended in a 2-1 win for Ballincollig.

Ballincollig went 2-0 up early with goals from Darren Ugbelase and a header from Rory O’Connor and probably should have added a couple more but Carrigaline came back into it with a goal from a corner just before halftime.

The second half was fairly even with chances for both sides but Ballincollig hung on for an excellent win.
The game was played in a great spirit and enjoyed by all spectators.

Liam Quinn and Ross O’Leary stood out for Ballincollig in a great team performance. 🙌

U11 Division 6 - White Team
Ballincollig 2-1 Mallow Utd A

U11 Ballincollig White Team had a great start to their league campaign with a hard earned 2-1 victory over Mallow United A. The lads began their first ever competitive game really well and took a deserved lead after 15 minutes with a lovely volley from the edge of the box by Oliver O'Sullivan-Alice.

There were chances to double the lead but it remained 1-0 at half time.
Mallow United started the 2nd half in determined fashion and equalised with a well taken free kick. The game was in the balance and we needed some good saves from Darragh Speight and strong defending to keep the score level.

Some hard running and tough tackling helped turn the game back in our favour. After good work on the right by Dara Morgan, Rory McConnon scored the goal his performance deserved to take all 3 points for Ballincollig. Well done lads! 🇳🇬

U13B Division 10
Leeds 2-5 Ballincollig

Ballincollig AFC U13B team had a very well deserved 5-2 victory away at Leeds Utd on the first game of the season. They started really well putting some great passes together and a well deserved early goal came from pressure by Thomas Hennessy.

Two further first half goals from Ben Kirby and Scott Sheehan capped off a brilliant first half performance.

The Second half started with some early pressure from Leeds who pulled a goal back and continued to put pressure on Ballincollig.
A period of hard work resulted in two further great individual goals from Karim and Emmanuel.

An exciting end to end finish seen Leeds convert a dubious last minute penalty! Superb team performance by all the players involved 🙌🏻

U13 Division 1
Wilton 2-2 Ballincollig

Ballincollig made the short trip to Wilton for their first match of the season. Wilton took a very early lead after 2 minutes with a goal from close range after a corner.
However we made some good attacks down the wings which resulted in the returning Aaron O'Connell scoring, also from close range.

Some good attacks by both sides saw Wilton hit the crossbar but it was Ballincollig who took the lead with a perfect pass from Rory to Josh Finn who knocked the ball past the keeper and finished it off close to the goal line.

The 2nd half continued with some great battles all over the pitch.
Again some great defending and resulting attacks could have seen us 2 up.
However Wilton pressed hard. In the final minute a high ball that bounced behind our defense, resulted in a headed goal for Wilton.
That brought to a close an evenly contested and hard fought encounter, with only a handful of free kicks.

Well done lads on a very good performance.👏

Mogeely 1–3 Ballincollig

Ballincollig U19s got their new season off to a winning start with a fantastic 3–1 victory away to Mogeely in the CYL U19 League Cup!

It wasn’t the easiest of starts, as Ballincollig found themselves behind early on after Mogeely took advantage of a misplaced pass. However, the team showed great character and remained composed, knowing there was plenty of time to get back into the game.

That patience paid off just before half-time when Habeeb latched onto a superb through ball from Fionn Johnson before calmly finishing past the Mogeely goalkeeper to level the game.

A couple of tactical adjustments at half-time saw Ballincollig come out strongly in the second half, dominating possession and putting Mogeely under sustained pressure.

David O’Connell was a constant threat to the Mogeely defence, while the Ballincollig backline and midfield worked hard to keep control of the game.

After a missed penalty, Ballincollig finally got their reward when Isaac Mullins raced onto a through ball, rounded the goalkeeper and calmly finished to put Ballincollig ahead.

And it wasn’t long before David O’Connell got the goal his performance deserved, finishing in similar fashion to make it 3–1.

A brilliant comeback, a strong second-half performance and, most importantly, three goals and three points to start the season! 👏

U11 Division 1

Ballincollig welcomed Mallow Town to the Landing Field Saturday morning for their first ever competitive match.

Mallow Town started the strongest, taking the lead midway through the half.
Ballincollig fought their way back into the game with some great battling from Cian O'Mahony and Eric.

In the second half, Ballincollig started to take control with Eoin, Cian Jeremy, Conor, and Luke showing their class, creating a host of chances that narrowly missed.
Mallow were always a threat on the counter-attack, with fine saves from Ted keeping us in it.

Finally, after sustained pressure, we struck the net with a good finish by James O'Connor to bring the sides level. A second was soon to follow in the dying minutes with some fine build-up play, finished again by James.
Well done to the boys for a brilliant start to the season and thanks to Mallow for a great game.
