Ballincollig u14A continued their strong
end of the season with a comprehensive away win in East Cork.
The home team took the lead against the run of play when they sprung the offside trap.
Ballincollig equalised with a superb free kick converted by Leo. Matthew Finn also had a legitimate goal wrongly ruled out.
The away team took the lead before halftime when Jay finished well after very slick approach play which started with a great interception by George at left back.
In midfield Pauric was winning every loose ball, and Marcel was creating plenty of problems on the right hand side.
The second half followed in similar vein with Ballincollig having the majority of possession but were denied by the heroics of a very good Carrigtwohill keeper.
Finally Ballincollig extended the lead when Charlie took a clever quick free kick leaving Jay clear to finish well.
Jay completed his hatrick soon after when a strong through ball from George left him with the keeper to beat.
Great performance all round. Vincent was commanding the box and the defence of Charlie, Adam , Ethan and George were resolute.
In midfield Pauric, Jay and Matthew and later Ewan and Shane were tireless while Leo, Marcel and Jack carved out many chances.
One more game to go to finish as high as we can with promotion still in sight.

U12 Blackwater Motors Division 2
Ballincollig 2 - 2 Mayfield United

Club sponsored by Ballincollig Credit Union
Team sponsored by SQ Engineering

In a highly controversial match from start to finish, Ballincollig played outstanding to get a 2 - 2 draw against Mayfield at the Regional Park.

Facing a strong wind for the first half, Ballincollig drew first blood with a great goal from Jan from an assist from Rory.

Shortly after from a Mayfield corner , Ross headed away bravely from a very high kick saving a certain goal, that went unpunished, causing Ross to come off injured.

Mayfield scored an equaliser with the wind playing a part from a long ball in the 26th minute.

Ballincollig almost responded with another goal from a great through ball by Alex to Josh Smith however the keeper made a great save and the first half ended 1-1 a couple of minutes early.

The second half continued much of the same, when Ballincollig went 2-1 up with a recycled corner and a cross from Alex for Josh Finn to slot the ball in.

Mayfield put pressure on for the equaliser, with some last minute sliding tackles from AJ, Noel and Aaron keeping Ballincollig on for a deserved win, however Mayfield got a free kick on edge of the box and scored to make it 2-2.

The game ended 2-2 and despite the lads clear disappointment with all the decisions made but we couldn’t have asked more from them and they should be very proud of themselves.

Thanks to all the parents and spectators today for their support. πŸ‘

We want to wish Ross a Speedy Recovery.

Ballincollig continued their strong finish to the end of the season with a great performance and a terrific result.
In truth for much of the season they have played this type of exhilarating football but have had difficulty in converting it onto the scoresheet.
This was a game where everything fell into place. Goals came from Jay with a hat trick, Marcel and Leo with a brace each and one from Evan.
The fight and effort from everyone on the pitch was absolutely superb.
The hardworking midfield of Pauric Jay and Evan deserve special mention, as does Marcels wing play while at the back George revelled as an attacking full back.
2 games to go and all to play for.

U12 Albert Conboye Founders Cup 2025/2026
Ballincollig 7 – 0 Bandon

Club sponsored by Ballincollig Credit Union
Team sponsored by SQ Engineering

Ballincollig welcomed Bandon to the Landing Field for their last 32 fixture in the Albert Conboye Founders Cup.
The game started evenly with little in the way of chances for either side in the early stages. However, Ballincollig took the lead in the 17th minute when Rory weaved his way through the defence and scored. Just before half time Ballincollig scored again – Jan scoring a nice goal assisted by Josh Finn. The second half started much the same as the first half with few chances for either side until Jan connected with a through from Rory to score. A few minutes later Jan intercepted the ball in the Bandon half and passed to Jack who duly scored. Josh Finn scored twice in the final 5 minutes, and Jack chalked up another goal to make the final score 7-0 to Ballincollig which rounded up an excellent team performance.

Ballincollig proceed to the last 16 where they will face Carrigtwohill United A.

Thanks to all our supporters for braving the weather conditions to support the team.
