Yes. There is a cut-off time of 3 hours. This is for health and safety reasons and to be fair to the marshals who have given up their time to support the athletes. The race begins at 10 am and the course will close at 1pm. This means that the roads will re-open, and there will be no marshals or water stations on the course after this time.

There will be road closures along the greater part of the route from 09.30am to 1pm, which provides huge safety and comfort for our athletes. There will, however, be some short sections of the route that must remain accessible to moving traffic.
Please follow the instructions of the Gardai and race marshals and be mindful that safety is paramount for all involved.

There will be 5 water stations along the race route at approximately 3 miles, 6 miles, 8 miles, 10 miles, and 12 miles plus a refreshment stand at the finish with water and a goodie bag. There will also be several people patrolling the route on bikes with additional water and words of encouragement! In the event of it being a particularly warm day, runners may wish to consider carrying water with them from the start. The first water station is at the 3-mile mark, and Tullamore Harriers will not be able to provide water to runners before the race begins. We will have a water bottle bin located after each water station, and we ask all competitors to use the bins provided when at all possible. Please help us to keep the route litter-free by dropping your empty bottles in the bins provided.

JACK COX 10K 2026 โ€“ THANK YOU!

As we look back on a fantastic day on Sunday, the Committee and members of Kilcormac Killoughey A.C would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for ensuring the 2026 instalment of The Jack Cox 10K was a successful event in the Athletics Calendar once again. Firstly, a huge thank you to all our visiting athletes and neighbouring clubs in the county and further afield who came to participate and support us yesterday morning with 284 athletes crossing the finish line. The camaraderie and support between all the Athletics Clubs in Offaly is what helps to keep all our race series going from strength to strength.

Congratulations to all the prize winners. Rhys Johnson from Donore Harriers A.C was the overall winner in a impressive time of 32:19 and collected the Jack Cox Perpetual Trophy which was presented to Peter by Jackโ€™s grandson, John. Paul Mitchell, Tullamore Harriers A.C closely followed him home to claim 2nd place with Mick Fogarty from Ferbane A.C again following closely home to take 3rd place. Orlaith Flanagan from Mullingar Harriers A.C took the ladies honours in a time of 41:27 with Charlotte Abbott from Tullamore Harriers A.C in 2nd place and Lisa Murphy from Naomh Mhuire A.C taking 3rd place. Full results below.

Thank you to the Cox Family for their continued support of the race and to all the businesses and individuals who generously donated sponsorship to the club. Thank you as always to Christy Todd and Offaly GAA for the use of the excellent facilities at the Faithful Fields for registrations, toilets, parking and refreshments afterwards and to Jimmy Mitchell for his assistance there during the morning. Thanks to the team from PopUp Races for all their help on the day. Thank you to Offaly Civil Defence for their help on the day, and to Offaly County Council for all their assistance in preparing for the race also. Thanks to John Gill for the fantastic photos from the day, full album to follow. A huge congratulations to all our own members who took part in the race, with some new PBโ€™s and some completing their 1st 10k, well done to you all. Finally, a massive thank you to all our members and volunteers from the wider community who put their shoulder to the wheel on the day and beforehand, without your help it simply wouldnโ€™t be possible for an event as big as this to run so smoothly. The support given to the club by everyone is greatly appreciated.

Well done everyone and we look forward to welcoming you all back again in 2027!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š
