Busy but productive weekend working as Head of Transition at the European Cup Triathlon at the City of Derry Triathlon.
Unlocked new skills carpet laying (still a bit rough round the edges before any smart comments) but think will stick with the coaching!

Great to have 3 athletes racing in the Elite Junior and Elite Senior Males races. First outings for all at this level so loads of learning, benchmark set and planning now for next season.
And also 3 racing in the AG race with some great performances.
Wishing GT a speedy recovery after his bike crash.

Did my first Ironman in Frankfurt in 2006, so decided to take the trip back over this year to mark my 20th "anniversary"
The weather gods decided they weren't letting me have it easy though!
With mainland Europe hitting some extreme temperatures, and Ironman Nice (being run on the same day being cancelled due to the heat) the Frankfurt organisers decided to shorten the race.
So we had the inaugural T150 Frankfurt instead of the Ironman distance with a 3.9km swim, 125km bike and 21.1km run.
On race day the water temperature hit 29.1C (only surpassed by Ironman 70.3 Philippines which hit 29.5C), the air temperature hit 42C, and running out of water on the bike course all made for a tough slog and a long day at the office.

Some well deserved ice cream at the finish line though!

Just finished another fantastic week of Mallorca Training Camps with Oliver Harkin and Ciaran Campbell hosting athletes from Belpark, Wicklow and Down Triathlon Clubs.
Fantastic weather, loads of training in the sunshine and friendships made.
Looking forward to meeting everyone again at races over the summer.

A home from home at this stage as this is our 12th year hosting these camps and Lanzarote never disappoints. Even turned up the winds a notch at the start of the week to keep us honest!
Still loads of smiles and miles clocked up though.

Easier day today with a sunrise run before breakfast then hit the pool later.

A few photos of Roisin Kelleher looking way too happy as she storms her way round the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Marbella last week.
With a fantastic finishing time of 5hrs 23mins on a tough hilly and windy course, Roisin also managed to bag some Strava segment records for her descending along with some World class kudos!!

Seven of toed the start line of a cold and wet Dublin Marathon last Sunday morning.
Some chasing PBs, some chasing a first Marathon finish, others just jogging round the course to close out their season.
We ended up with 3 athletes smashing their PBs!

Congratulations too to Ethon Mc Grane on completing his first Marathon!

As if the Lost Sheep Half Ironman wasn't hard enough, throw in rough seas, tough winds and relentless rain to make this years addition extra special!!

Fantastic racing by Roisin Kelleher who finished 2nd Female overall at Saturdays race.

A solid swim in the tough conditions, Roisin powered her way round the challenging hilly bike course before claiming the 2nd step of the podium with her consistent strong run.

A massive confidence boost for Roisin who's a couple of training blocks out from racing in this year's Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Marbella

Also, well done to Anthony Gar who also toed the line and produced a solid first race back after a bit of a break from Triathlon.
