And also special mention to one young girl that made her debut with the U18’s on Friday night & getting on the scoresheet and then togged out Saturday with the u15’s , where she scored another 2 goals.
Well done 14 yr old Ella O Meara

Premier Shield Final | Ballymackey 2–0 BT Harps Senior A.

BT Harps travelled to Ballymackey for the Premier Shield Final, first half the lads struggled to find their rhythm as the hosts enjoyed the better of the play. Both sides had chances, but the game remained scoreless at half-time.

BT started the second half much brighter, pushing for an opening goal. However, Ballymackey broke the deadlock on 65 minutes following good work down the left wing.

BT made a couple changes and pushed for an equaliser, but Ballymackey sealed the win with a second goal with ten minutes remaining.

Well done to Ballymackey on a deserved victory. Best for BT on the day were Cormac Foy, Kailum O’Meara and Sean Paddy.

We now dust ourselves down and prepare for our opening league game at home to Portumna next Sunday.

U18 Girls;
Kicked off their season tonight under light at Michael Fennell Pk v Holycross, not very much in it in the first quarter, BT had a few chances but the best chance fell to the visitors and what a point blank save from Ciara Leahy, and she made another shortly afterwards to keep us in the game. On 34 minutes Aoife Ryan was brought down in the box and up stepped 15 year old Sinead Cowan to score. 3 minutes later it was 2 nil when 14yr old scored and what a goal from Ella O Meara who lobbed the advancing keeper.
The next goal was going to be very important and it fell to Harps when player of the match Tara Maher made another run opening up the Holycross defence and crossed to Leah Rose Weldon to score her first goal for the Club on 57 minutes 3-0. Harps ran out comfortable winners from here, Tara Maher & Ellie Bourke scored to make the final score 5-0 and Harps getting their league campaign off to a winning start.
Great team performance, but special mention to Snr player Ciara Leahy who made saves at vital times, Abigail Owens in the heart of the defence is getting better & better which has not gone unnoticed as she lined out for the Snr’s last week. Tara Maher & Rose Loughnane in the middle of the park a great combination. And Aoife Ryan did a lot of running upfront.

U15 girls were at home to unfamiliar opponents Nenagh Celtic, only met once over the last couple of seasons and it took a penalty shootout to separate them. The girls continued on from where they left off in their last game in free scoring form. Two goals in the first ten minutes for Caoimhe Kennedy supplied by Ella O'Meara and Saoirse Kennedy. Ella then getting on the score sheet after 25 minutes Susanne Everard with a great ball through. Suzanne grabbing her own goal on the stroke of half time Sophia Carey the creator. In to the second half Ella doubled her tally for the day winning a goal kick and racing from midfield to score. On to the 40th minute Caoimhe scored her second hat trick in two matches, Sophia Carey with her second assist of the day. With the game closing out Celtic grabbed a late consultation after BT failed to clear a corner. BT rounded out the scoring with Libby Bourke in the unfamiliar position of left wing getting on the end of a Jenny Martin cross. Great all round performance from the girls, exceptional all over the field with joint players of the match going to Grainne H***e, superb at right back today and Suzanne Everard continuing her great start to the season.

The 15Bs were away to Lough Derg today, we only had the bare 11 today and a huge thanks to to 14s lads that helped us out, it was a fairly even first half today with both teams trying hard to get off the mark, we gave up a lot of space in the middle of the pitch and allowed Derg way to much time on the ball but thankfully we took the lead after about 25 minutes trough a John Higgins goal Dara Feehan getting the assist, half time 1-0 BT, we had a chat at half time and asked the boys to tighten up in midfield and tighten up they did, BT really dominated the second half and 10 minutes in Sam Tuohy doubled our lead Higgins getting the assist this time, we had a few more chances and were very unlucky not to get another couple of goals but it finished up 2-0 to BT, super effort today by all the boys with no subs and they absolutely worked their socks off, very hard pick a MOTM anyone of the back four today could of got it they were all excellent Adam was excellent in the goal as well but we’ll give it to John Higgins with a goal and an assist today and an all round great performance, well done lads

Under 13 girls were at home in the league today against Killavilla.
The girls are in the top division this year and this game was always going to be a real test for us.
The girls came out fighting in the game and really put Killavilla under pressure from the start.
Florence was unfortunate with a couple of chances early on and Katelyn hit the crossbar shortly before halftime. Half time 0-0
In to the second half and Killavilla grew in to the game scoring two goals in the opening ten minutes.
To the girls credit they stayed playing and Florence hit a rocket to the top corner following a brilliant run and assist from Mya.
Unfortunately Killavilla got in for two more with time nearly up.
Full time Bt 1 Killavilla 4
Best for Bt today were Florence, Isla and Libby, but player of the match today was Mya. Her work rate, running with the ball and passing was exceptional all game.

U13 B boys
The lads had very impressive win over Arra rovers today. With the bare 11 players everyone needed to step up and they did. Every single player played well and just outworked and out fought the opposition. No mom super team display

An absolute belter in BT harps this evening the under12 green tea got their season up and running against a tough Nenagh AFC team Robert o Brien got us going with an early goal with a good through ball from captain on the night Alex Braddish .Conor farrell got in for a second before halftime but just on the stroke of halftime Nenagh pulled a goal back 2 /1 to the Harps at halftime .Second half was nip and tuck for the first ten minutes of the second half with our back under pressure we conceded again 2 all we struck straight back again 3 to 2 but Nenagh struck back with a free kick just outside the box .With ten minutes to go leon got onto a through ball from Robert 4/3 to the Harps with 5 minutes left leon was pulled down penalty which was put away by man of the match Robert O Brien finished 5 / 3 to the harps

BT u13 Major league team finally played there first game and were away to Lough Derg. BT started brightly but found themselves 1 nil down after 20 minutes before we could react we found ourselves 2 down. This is how it stayed til half time. Lough Derg started the 2nd half stronger and soon got a third. This woke the BT lads up who went up and won a free kick which was brilliantly scored by Brian Higgins. The boys pushed on and got there second when Martin Kennedy found Higgins again for his 2nd. Bt had the wind in their sails from here on in and just when we thought time was up a shot by Joe Glesson slipped away from the keeper and that man again Brian Higgins in the right spot to tab in for 2 yards to complete his hat trick. Brillant game finishing 3 all which was a fair result.Great fighting spirit from the boys who all deserve players of the match this week.

This weeks games

BT Senior A fought a tough Shield Semi-Final away to Moneygall, who were always going to be fired up following last season’s league decider.
BT started brilliantly, playing some excellent football but it Moneygall who took the lead from a corner. Ryan Loughnane quickly levelled after a great run and effort from Joe Bourke.
Dylan Cody then calmly converted a penalty after Dean Lawlor was brought down to put Harps 2–1 up at half-time.
Moneygall levelled again from another corner in the second half. BT then had the luxary of introducing Stevie Nolan , Eimhin Ward and Pigeon who made a serious impact. BT finished strongly and pushed hard for the winner but it finished 2-2.
Penos decided it, with Davide making a huge save and all five BT penalties being converted to secure a 5–4 win to bring us to the final.
Outstanding performances from young Kailum O’Meara and Cormac Foy, while Lorcan Campion takes Man of the Match after another superb display.

Arra Rovers U14 - 0
BT Harps U14A - 6
Opening away win for BT Harps 14A against a determined Arra Rovers side. Goals from Sebby Tonde, Jake McGuinness (X2), Danial Ryan, Emils Putnins and Daniel Coleman gave the boys a convincing win and start to this years campaign. Brilliant performances from Adam Cleary, Matthew Rabbitte, Darragh Feehan, Daniel Ryan and Eoghan Slevin. MotM this week was Jake McGuiness for an outstanding display, scoring two goals and providing two excellent assists. Well done Jake!! 🏆
Special mention to Ultan Jones and Padraic Hoctor on their debuts today. The boys had a big influence on the game, both putting in really positive performances. Well done boys!! 🏆🏆

BT U14B had their 1st & 2nd games of the season this week, first up Lough Derg, we have an exceptionally big squad this year with some new additions from last year and no training done as of yet, so we honestly didn’t know how this one would go, thankfully the boys came out flying and we’re 1-0 up after five minutes thanks to a Sam Tuohy goal, the boys stayed driving forward for most of the first half and added another 4 goals thanks to Thomas Maher x2 Cian Cowan 1 and another from Sam, we gave away what we thought was a soft enough penalty towards the end of the half to make it 5-1 at the break, onto the second half and it was more of the same the lads didn’t let up at all and put Lough Derg under a lot of pressure, in fairness to them though they never gave up and had a few chances themselves but BT added 3 more goals to there total with Cian getting 2 more to complete his hatrick and Tommy Bourke getting 1 to finish it off, Lough Derg did manage to pull one back late on but it finished up 8-2, a super start to the season for the boys and some excellent performances all over the pitch, best for BT were Thomas Maher, Sam Tuohy, Tommy Burke and Donagh Kennedy who were all excellent but MOTM tonight goes to Cian Cowan with a hatrick and an unbelievable work rate for the whole game a real captains performance, well done to all the boys tonight super game by all

Under 14Bs were away today in their second game this week, we suffered a heavy defeat to the hands of a very strong Ballymakey side who are going to be hard to beat for any side in the division this season, the boys looked very leggy today and seemed to drop the heads after a couple of goals went against us and we never really got into the game, plenty to work on for the season ahead we still have no training done with other sports taking place at this early stage but with a bit of work were confident we will be a lot better than we showed today, MOTM was Donagh Kennedy who was excellent and really put in a shift today, well done to all the boys

Our U12As were away to Nenagh AFC this morning and came away with a well deserved 4 1 win. We got off to a great start and were 1 up inside 10minutes thanks to some great work by Jack Ryan set up Zac Richardson who made no mistake with the finish. The goal seem to wake up Nenagh who start to apply some pressure and got a equaliser just before half time. Our lads came out of the block flying in the second half and 3 quick goals from Jack Ryan (2) and Will Treacy put the game to bed. Nenagh pushed hard and could have got 1 back but for some great last ditch defending by Paul Treacy. This was a great team performance with all the boys giving everything. MOTM today goes to Jack Ryan who pulled the strings in midfield and came away with 2 goals and an assist.

Our U12 girls were at home to Cloughjordan today , and we came away with the comprehensive 6-2 win. The girls played with such composure today that every one of the girls should be proud of their contribution. The passes that they made and their decision-making are the result of their hard work in training. Our backs played a stormer right through mid field and our forwards. Goals from Florence and Lyla with assists from Fay and Laoise (C). Every one of the girls have improved and we could name them all for their contribution today. We had a wide choice of player of the match , but we'll give it to the scorer of five goals , Florence Mcginness

Our Under 12 B Boys were away today to Arra Rovers. Boys got out of the blocks slowly and were 1-0 down after an unfortunate OG for the opener. The boys continued to battle hard with a man down but Arra were slightly sharper and got another couple of goals on the bounce. Just before half time we gave away a soft penalty leaving the score 4-0 at half time. The second half was a much closer affair our boys really got stuck in to them but against the run of play Arra got their 5th goal. Our boys never dropped their heads and Billy Carey scored from a beautiful free kick into the top corner. From then on our boys kept on pushing with Harry Eid hitting the cross bar. A couple of great saves from the Arra goalie denied Cian Naughton and Billy Carey. With no subs and the boys taking turns in goal I was very proud of hard they fought. Excellent performances from Niall Harkin, Billy Carey, Cian Naughton & Harry Eid. PODM goes to Tom Cahill for a great display all over the field.
