🌳 Harbourwoods Community Park & Hub – BIG NEWS FOR KILBRITTAIN!

We’re delighted to announce that our community development project has been awarded €30,000 in A&D funding from SECAD and will now be named Harbourwoods Community Park & Hub.

This is a once in a generation project that will connect the school, woodlands, village, coastline and beach, creating a fully accessible space for sport, learning, nature, wellbeing and remembrance.

🏡 The Harbourwoods Hub

The Hub will be the heart of the development, featuring:

- Oisín’s Gym
- Anne’s Butterfly Room
- Multi‑purpose rooms for classes, meetings, youth activities, remote working and community events
- Kitchen facilities
- Accessible dressing rooms and showers

🌿 The Wider Harbourwoods Park

The surrounding park will include:

- Safe, accessible pathways linking the school, astro, main pitch, village and woodland network
- Outdoor learning and nature based activity areas
- A community garden and allotments
- Biodiversity zones and woodland enhancements
- Upgraded parking and improved access routes
- Spaces for wellbeing, reflection and remembrance

🏗️ Design Phase Begins

Our design team has now been identified and will be formally appointed, work will begin developing the final concept, preparing the planning application, and working closely with the community project team over the coming months.

💛 Fundraising Update

Thanks to incredible community support:

- Oisín’s Gym fundraiser has passed €50,000, with more to come as Lip Sync preparations continue.
- Anne’s Pop Up Shop has raised €15,000, with donations still coming in.
- The Kilbrittain Festival Committee are also hard at work, with funds going directly to support the Community and the Harbourwoods project.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your generosity as we remember Anne and Oisín in our community.
