Huge congrats to Three of our members on being nominated for Fresher of the year in the CIT Sports Awards 2020!! Keep an eye on the CIT Sports pages for all of this year's nominees! Winners are announced from Monday 18th!! Well done to all our members, ye put in a fantastic effort all through the year and it has been a pleasure watching you all progress! Official TI guidelines for safe hygenic tennis for anyone looking to keep playing

To all our members,
I hope you're all doing okay and staying safe during this pandemeic. It will pass, it's just a matter of when... For the time being, it's important to adhere to the social distancing, and good hygiene. Wash your hands more often than before, use sanitiser as well if you wish, avoid visiting elderly or vulnerable relatives, JUST IN CASE you happen to be a carrier. It mightn't have much effect (if any) on us, but for anyone more vulnerable, it can be incredibly tough to fight it.
For anyone looking to play during the isolation periods, it's strongly advised that you adhere to the HSE/Government recommendations (these were sent in to my home club so taking from Mallow TC info)

a) Practicing good hand and respiratory hygiene. We are asking players to bring soap with them and use the outside tap to wash hands before and after playing.

b) Practicing safe social distancing

c) Ensuring children play with their own family members and not interact with others

d) Not gathering to talk in groups
e) Not attending the club if you or a family member is unwell or you have recently travelled from an area where Coronavirus is prevalent.

Hopefully we'll all see each other again before the end of semester, we really don't know how long things will be on lockdown... Until then,

Just want to say the very best of luck to all of our members and followers with exams. For those who are finished, enjoy the well earned break! And for those still tackling assignents and exams, you're nearly there, keep pushing forward!💪🏼⠀

We had a fantastic semester of tennis, with a few changes to last year. We really couldn't have done it without the help of Miriam and the CIT Sports Department, so a massive thanks to you! Our Varsities team will look to knuckle down with training over the Christmas break, in preperation for the tournament (hosted by UCC Tennis in February!)🎾⠀
We were very lucky to have Eileen Caplice agree to come on-board as our official coach this year (and a big thanks to everyone who tolerated my unofficial and very improvised "coaching" on Tuesdays😂). Honestly the improvement you've all made since that first night on the astroturf pitch has been incredible to see! You should all be incredibly proud of your efforts and dedication. Big thanks to everyone who helped with the running of the trainings as well. We had a good few laughs, all the while improving.⠀
To our Erasmus members who have gone home, we hope you enjoyed your time here, and hope you enjoyed being part of CIT Tennis!😁🎾⠀
Looking ahead to second semester, we hope to continue trainings and coaching sessions, although we may have to look into a location (given we are due to lose our only court 😭). No matter what, we will try our hardest to keep the club going!💪🏼⠀
It's been a pleasure to be part of the club so far, and look forward to another semester on the way.⠀
