UCC Demons are delighted to announce Stuart Rodgers as Head Coach for the 2026/27 season.
Stuart steps into the role following years of dedication and success with our Blue Demons programme. Having served as assistant coach as 6 years & during recent championship winning campaigns, he has played a key role in developing the teams identity, culture, and winning mentality.
Stuart brings a deep understanding of the game, a passion for player development, and a strong connection to our Blue Demons community as he takes charge ahead of the new season.

Club Chairman Michael O’Leary welcomed the appointment, saying:

“Stuart has been an integral part of UCC Demons for a number of years and fully understands the standards, ambition, and culture of this club. His work ethic, basketball knowledge, and commitment to developing players made him the right candidate for the role.
We are excited to see Stuart lead the team into this next chapter and we have every confidence in his ability to build on the strong foundations already in place.”

Everyone at UCC Demons wishes Stuart the very best as he leads the team into the 2026/27 campaign.

Huge congratulations to Shane Coughlan on his induction into the Basketball Ireland Hall of Fame last weekend at the awards ceremony in Naas, Co. Kildare 🏀👏

A legendary career spanning 17 years, six Pat Duffy National Cup titles, three Men’s Super League titles, three Champions Trophy titles, two Intermediate National Cups and countless unforgettable moments with Blue Demons — a truly deserved honour for one of Irish basketball’s finest players.

Shane’s words on the night says it all: "this recognition is not only for him, but for his family, teammates, coaches, committee members and the entire Blue Demons community who shared in the journey and success"

A special moment for Irish basketball and for everyone connected with Blue Demons. Congratulations Shane — Hall of Fame and forever a legend of the game 💙🏆

Requirements:
• Basketball Ireland Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience at Superleague, National League, or International level (preferred)
