Due to unforeseen circumstances training is cancelled tonight. We will be back on Thursday night at 6-7.30pm for junior/senior boxing training 🥊🥊

Underage boxing training tomorrow at 5.30-6.30pm. Please have your full gear with you - bandages/gumshields/water/towel etc🥊🥊

And the new Irish champion G2-45kgs is Leah cairns from Northside bc cork. What a performance by Leah today. Flew out of the corner with both hands going like pistons for the whole round. Round 2 and Leah came out throwing lovely combinations and she caught her opponent with a lovely back hand and the referee gave her opponent a standing count. 3rd round and Leah started well again landing great punches and although she started to slow because of the amount of punches thrown in the previous 2 rounds won all 3 round by a unanimous decision 🥊🥊

What a performance by Leah cairns in the S/finals of the national championships. 1st round Leah boxed very well landing everything she threw and gave her opponent a standing count. Round 2 and Leah followed up from round 1 and gave her opponent 2 standing counts and the referee stopped the contest. Roll on the final on Saturday morning

Peter O Donovan is just out of the ring at the national stadium and Peter gave it everything just there we thought it was a bit premature for the referee stopping it so close to the end of round 3. Were very proud of Peter’s performance today.

Rhys Crowley made he’s debut in the national stadium a few minutes ago and gave it everything inside those ropes. Rhys showed he’s opponent too much respect in the ring today. Unfortunately Rhys didn’t get the decision but gained valuable experience today. Head up Rhys and keep learning 🥊🥊

Martin Crowley is just out of the ring and unfortunately it wasn’t to be for Martin. He’s opponent was much taller than Martin and had a considerable reach advantage. Martin got caught with a few right hands and the referee gave Martin a count . We must remember the referee is there to protect the boxers at all times and Martin will no doubt learn from this. Well done Martin you gave it your best shot 🥊🥊

There is no boxing training this week as we have boxers involved in the national championships in Dublin all week.

Underage/junior boxing training today is from 5.30-6.30pm and senior training is at 6.30-8pm. Full gear is needed for training and script is also to be paid . Last session this week for our 4 Munster champions before they head to Dublin next week to compete at the national championships. Martin Leah Peter and Rhys are in fantastic shape and rearing to go for next week🥊🥊

Well done to all who turned up this evening for training. Our 4 boxers -Leah,Martin,Peter and Rhys are in great shape ahead of their respective age/weights in the national championships in Dublin next week and rearing to go. A big thank you to John morrissey /golden gloves bc for bringing down Ellie Murray to spar Leah cairns this evening and both girls are in fantastic shape for next week. A great session done by the junior/senior classes this evening with plenty of sweat from everyone. A few sparred off tonight and plenty of combinations thrown by them all. Great to see Afonso back training and getting into shape .Keep up the great work everyone.
