Local Clonakilty GAA Club and Cork GAA players, Sean and Mark White are supporting our fundraising efforts for .
We are asking people to walk, run, cycle, swim etc., within their 5K and in their social bubble to raise badly needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
Over 40,000 people will be diagnosed with cancer in Ireland this year - in reality the lonely world of cancer is far too overcrowded!
Please support them and us in our fundraising efforts by donating at http://www.justgiving.com/daffodil-day-clonakilty or popping into the Clonakilty Credit Union or Post Office over the next few days.
Thank you for your ongoing support 💛

On behalf of my fellow Officers I would like to wish everyone connected with our Club a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year. We can certainly look forward to 2021 with great hope after what has been a very difficult year. As we continue to navigate our way through the Covid 19 pandemic, I would like to thank all our members for their co-operation during these unprecedented times.
It has been a very difficult year for everyone, but our thoughts are especially with the many families who lost loved ones and where we were unable to support the bereaved in the customary manner.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has given so generously of their time to support the Club in all it’s activities, but in particular our members who took on the responsibilities of the Covid Regulations. We have a large number of volunteers working in various roles who continue to help grow the club.
This year has been very challenging from a financial perspective so I wish to say a sincere thanks to our main sponsor Colette Twomey from Clonakilty Blackpudding for her continued support, those who sponsored our Golf Classic fundraiser and everyone who supports the club lottery. You are invaluable and I thank you for supporting Clonakilty GAA.
A special mention to our Team Management and players for their huge commitment during the year and a to our fantastic hurlers on winning the Carbery Junior Championship and who are still in the hunt for county honours.
The St Stephens Day fundraiser cannot take place in the usual format this year. Instead, we are doing a virtual event between 26th and 31st December - you are asked to donate on-line with proceeds going to our local St Vincent de Paul.
I hope you can all spend time with your families and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas

Members, Players & Friends
As per public health guidelines all GAA activities will cease after today with the exception of some underage training. We note that our GAA club insurance is suspended for both the complex, astro, gym and all club activities.
The club lotto will continue - as the clubs only source of income - so please buy a tickets to support Clonakilty GAA and be in with a chance to win €10k+.
Also, gym memberships are now suspended i.e. the period of enforced shutdown will be added back in when we reopen.
We ask that everyone respects the public health guidance and we hope to be back soon. Our thoughts are especially with our senior members and local business owners.

Can we remind our members to abide by the relevant Covid restrictions i.e. individual training sessions only. This is just a reminder as the feedback is that everyone using the gym is following the rules, sanitizing equipment and maintaining social distance. Please keep up the good work.
