3-in-3!
Well done to our Seniors on a resounding victory this afternoon in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Kilkenny started the stronger of the two sides, quickly establishing a three-point lead within the opening minute or so. Their sharpness in attack saw them maintain control for much of the first half, picking off scores from both play and frees. Cork struggled to settle early on, with a couple of wides adding to their frustration.
However, the game’s momentum shifted in the 14th minute when Orlaith Cahalane struck for a crucial goal, bringing Cork level and igniting their challenge. From there, they found their rhythm, with a series of well-taken points ensuring they edged ahead by the break, leading 1-7 to 0-9.
The second half saw Cork assert complete dominance. Their attack moved fluidly, and their defensive structure tightened, limiting Kilkenny’s scoring opportunities. With confidence growing, they steadily pulled away, outscoring Kilkenny 2-10 to 0-4 after halftime. A second goal midway through the half widened the gap, and as the game entered injury time, a third goal put the result beyond doubt. While Kilkenny had shown promise early on, their inability to match Cork’s intensity after the break proved decisive.
In the end, Cork’s strong second-half display ensured a comprehensive 3-17 to 0-13 victory. Their ability to turn a close contest into a commanding win underlined their strength across the pitch.
