🔵⚪️🟡Player of the Season🟡⚪️🔵

This year, the lads made their voices heard – and Jordan Gordon-Harvey is your Players’ Player of the Season!

Jordan has been an absolute powerhouse for The Bridge. He set the tone all the way back in November when he was named Player of the Month, and he hasn’t looked back since. That early recognition was no fluke – week after week he delivered with consistency, dedication, and a work rate that never drops.

He doesn’t know when to quit, chasing every ball and driving the team forward from the first whistle to the last. On top of that, he’s the front-runner for the league’s top goalscorer – testament to the quality and threat he brings every game.

A leader by example and a nightmare for defenders, Jordan’s earned every bit of this recognition. Our Captain, and last year's Player of The Season, Cian O'Driscoll, was proud to pass the baton onto Jordan today.

Congratulations, Jordan. The Bridge is proud to have you!

Castlebridge Celtic FC rounded off their league campaign in spectacular fashion this Sunday, putting on a clinic at Celtic Park with a dominant 5-1 victory over Greenwood F.C. in the Murphy's Stout Cork AUL league. From the opening whistle, it was clear that our boys had come to play, implementing a high-pressing game plan that squeezed the life out of the visitors and forced them into errors throughout the ninety minutes.

The early pressure paid dividends when Dave Twomey stood over a corner, delivering a pinpoint ball to the back post that found Conor Twomey, who made no mistake in slotting home the opener. The momentum stayed firmly with the hosts, and soon after, they doubled their lead through a piece of pure direct precision. Goalkeeper Barry Sheehy spotted a gap in the Greenwood defense and launched a booming ball from his own area; C. Twomey latched onto it perfectly, showing great composure to finish the move from front to back.

Greenwood did manage to find a lifeline, rifling a shot back to bring the score to 2-1 and momentarily silencing the home crowd. However, C. Twomey was not to be denied his moment of glory. After a spell of sustained pressure, Jason Moorehouse produced a moment of individual brilliance, carving open the defense with an outrageous, outside-of-the-boot cross-field ball. C. Twomey rose to meet it, heading home to secure a magnificent hat-trick, (his second in 3 games!) and restore the two-goal cushion.

The Bridge continued to pour forward in the second half, with the hat-trick hero turning provider as C. Twomey squared a ball for Malik Hammed to finish from close range. Even as the clock ticked toward the 90th minute, the hunger of the squad was evident. In the 89th minute, showing incredible fitness levels for the final game of the season, the Bridge transitioned instantly from defending a corner to a lethal counter-attack. Kieran Barrett broke away and unselfishly set up Jordan Gordon-Harvey, who swept home the fifth to cap off a flawless afternoon.

The victory was the perfect backdrop for the post-match celebrations at Celtic Park. Gordon-Harvey’s late strike cements his position as the front-runner for the league’s Top Goalscorer award, a just reward for his clinical form all season.

After a season packed with positivity and real progress, our players can finally put the boots down and enjoy the break. The improvements week to week were clear to see – on the pitch, in training, and in the spirit around the club. Every player should be proud of the effort, commitment and character shown.

Thank you to everyone who pulled on the Bridge jersey this year. Rest up, recharge, and enjoy the summer.

Onwards and upwards for next season. Hon the Bridge!

Castlebridge Celtic FC hit the road once again, this time making the trip to Hibernian AFC, and in glorious weather they produced another excellent display to come away with a 4-1 victory in the Murphy's Stout Cork AUL league.

Our boys showed their intent early on when Kieran Barrett dragged a good chance narrowly wide of the post, setting the tone for what was to come. After feeling their way into the game and making a slight rejig, the Bridge burst into life in spectacular fashion.

Jordan Gordon-Harvey opened the scoring following a tenacious game of head tennis with Kieran Barrett, before adding a second just moments later after being set up by Gracjan Platek. He then completed a remarkable three-minute hat-trick when Cian O’Driscoll delicately chipped the ball into his path, allowing Gordon-Harvey to finish from an outrageous angle.

Hibernian AFC were handed a lifeline when they converted a penalty after a handball at the other end, but Castlebridge quickly restored their cushion when Dave Twomey added the fourth with a superb direct free kick.

Hibs were later awarded another penalty in what could have changed the momentum of the game, but Gearóid White came up with a magnificent save before producing a commanding performance for the remainder of the match to ensure Castlebridge comfortably saw out the 4-1 win, keeping our slim hope of promotion alive!

Up next: our final league game of the season, where we faced Greenwood F.C. in Lehenaghmore on Sunday 26th April at 11am.

The pitch was a dream and the sun was shining on our lads this morning in Celtic Park as we faced Inch Utd in the Murphy's Stout Cork AUL league, and we started like we meant it – moving the ball well and putting Inch under pressure. But they snatched the lead on 25 minutes. Our boys kept pushing, and a crucial handball on the line in injury time gave us a penalty lifeline. Kieran Barrett stepped up, cool as you like, and slotted it neatly into the bottom right corner. A brilliant strike to send the sides into halftime level.

Inch came flying out the blocks in the 2nd half and edged ahead again early on, but Conor Twomey responded with a cracker, thanks to a beauty of a cross from Cian O'Driscoll. We battled hard, but Inch pulled ahead again and sealed it with a late goal. Tough break, but we'll bounce back!

Up next: Killbrittain Rovers at home, 1pm next Saturday. Let's go, Bridge!

There were goals galore this afternoon as our boys travelled to play Rylane Celtic FC in the Murphy's Stout Cork AUL league. Castlebridge got off to the perfect start when Gracjan Platek opened the scoring in the early minutes, finishing off a slick move following a brilliant team press and a perfectly weighted through ball from Dion McCormack. Rylane responded quickly with a goal of their own to level things up. However, McCormack restored the lead in style, rising highest in a crowded box to power home a superb looping header from a Dave Twomey free kick. The momentum stayed with The Bridge as Kieran Barrett followed up his own saved penalty to find the net shortly after. Not to be outdone, Rylane hit back again, converting a penalty of their own just after the half-hour mark to keep the game finely balanced. On the stroke of half-time, Castlebridge gained a crucial advantage when Colin Shealy produced a moment of magic, striking a first-time effort from 35 yards, ably assisted by Artjoms Ivanovs.

The second half saw Castlebridge extend their lead in the 55th minute, when substitute Aaron Fenton made an instant impact, capitalising on a quick throw-in from Dave Twomey. Rylane continued to push forward and were rewarded with another goal, applying pressure with numbers. But our boys grabbed the reigns and finished in style. Barrett capped off his performance with a stunning strike from halfway, before Jordan Gordon-Harvey added two more goals—his first assisted by Dion McCormack, and his second set up by Jason Moorehouse—to wrap up an outstanding away victory, bringing all 3 points home.
Our next game is on Sunday 5th April at 11am in Celtic Park, where we host Inch Utd. Let's keep the momentum going lads! 💪
